DO NOT listen to while driving or operating heavy machinery.

Fri. 6/5/09 3:19pm From: Ike

Normally the word "quaalude" has two "A"s. But in this case, it's a proper name, so who knows? And can anybody think it through very clearly after all that? I'm woozy.

Fri. 6/5/09 3:20pm From: yo yo yo

320...

Fri. 6/5/09 3:20pm From: BillyJam

to those tuning in to hear the intended "Live from Belfast" show, my apologies - due to several factors that broadcast had to cancelled at last minute. A make up show of sorts will come down the line.....This prerecorded show is a melange of mixes by my alter ego (DJ Quaalude) and stuff I recorded on the streets of New York City over past month with the cool as fuck WFMU Wav file recorder - a SONY PCM 50....There will also be some ol skool NYC hip hop radio and music and some classic NY/NJ/CHhi-town house circa 88 + a special 4:19 break coming up....Thanks for listening..>>WFMU RULEZ

Fri. 6/5/09 3:22pm From: BillyJam

Fri. 6/5/09 3:27pm From: GP

Good evening Billy....Did you use the built-in mics. to record all of this? Have a good weekend.

Fri. 6/5/09 3:27pm From: djspiderman

cant wait for a fire truck to whizz by horn n siren a blazin

Fri. 6/5/09 3:31pm From: BillyJam

what up Spidey in the UK! Hey Jeff Mullan thanks for board-oping and always been the man. Hey GP - yeah that machine comes with two lovely inbulit mics that can be moved to various directions. What is great about it is the clean sounding directional accuracy that it offers. IE you can point it across the street at two people talking and turn up the record level and it will pick it up perfectly

Fri. 6/5/09 3:34pm From: dc pat

gads, that sounds like heaven! Gotta git one of those...DOH! $600!!

Fri. 6/5/09 3:35pm From: cranky old lady

Fri. 6/5/09 3:37pm From: GP

Fri. 6/5/09 3:37pm From: Bad Ronald

Roland's Edirol is not as sweet but is easier on the pocket.

Fri. 6/5/09 3:38pm From: jeff_m

hey billy. Cool show today. Glad you started the playlist as I forgot.

Fri. 6/5/09 3:40pm From: Cranky Ole Jam

actually Benj.Walker told me of a place up on 34th Street where they have these machines on sale for $450 and that comes with the wind muffler (the furry looking cap that usually sells for $50) that is (as Scott Williams first told me) a necessity for outdoor recording.....There are also two other simialr (cheaper) other brands (avail at J&R and online) for about $270 and $370.....To Cranky Ol Lady - there will be music later in show.....But this is music to my ears......and only a special place like WFMU would allow me to air it...

Fri. 6/5/09 3:43pm From: paul

(the cranky old lady was me... it was a joke post, i couldn't resist... this show is awesome)

Fri. 6/5/09 4:22pm From: just a guy

I like the field recordings a lot as well. And mixed in with the ambient sounds and effects gives the whole thing a surreal quality, like there are some kind of digital angels singing on the street corners in NYC.
