Listener comments!

  2:15am
Steve:

Everyone ready for this weeks unsolicited song request?
  2:16am
Bill Mac:

Bring it on!
  2:24am
Steve:

Leaving it to your better judgement and fate:

Joe Cocker's

1969 - Joe Cocker! - Hitchcock Railway (4:03)

-or-

1971 - Happy - Something's Coming On (2:07)
  2:37am
Bill Mac:

More intriguing that you left me with a choice - an artist that I don't know and another one that I'm not sure I like. Let me see what we got...
  3:04am
larry:

Hi Bill. Lusty and zesty? I had to get out of bed for that one. I know you don't usually do requests unless asked!!! But any Julie Feeney?
  3:08am
Bill Mac:

Hey Larry, let me check on that one as well...
  3:25am
Steve:

You and Frank O'Toole need to set-up a psychedelic shootout.
  3:30am
Bill Mac:

Lofty praise man... I DO know this one.... Joes old stuff was pretty decent... I always remember him being chanelled through John Belushi. Didn't help that they BOTH appeared as Joe Cocker in an SNL routine... amazing
  3:30am
Steve:

I doubt that song ever had mainstream airplay, but is it considered mainstream in a WFMU sense?
  3:39am
Bill Mac:

On one hand, we don't have a Cocker album, but I would think that the powers that be at FMU would appreciate what Cocker could do early in his career. I sure do. I must've heard it at some point on FM radio, in a previous life or something
  3:42am
Steve:

OK, no trillion dollar selling Cocker, but on the other hand Blossom Toes there for the playing. This must be your private collection.
  3:51am
Bill Mac:

There might be an explanation. We do keep our "second string" music deep in the bowels of the building
  4:09am
Steve:

AAaargh .. second string .. my musical repertoire is a second string revelation
  4:16am
Bill Mac:

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just because an album sold well 40 years ago doesn't mean it wasn't a good album... leave the judging to the obsessives that don't go out and smell the roses every now and again. Now get out there and take a walk mister!
  4:54am
Sonaroj:

Hey, Mr. Bill, what happened to you? Who is this other guy?
  5:05am
Bill Mac:

Hey Son,

Still me, just playing some oddities at the moment I guess....
  5:12am
sonaroj:

Okay, cool. Somehow, a station outa Virginia butted into your Arto Lindsey track. Actually playing some cool stuff, like MC5 boots, etc. Weird. Will see if I can get back to you.

Nice one Bill, that Jeff Beck track took me back I right floated away
  5:19am

Hey Stanner,
That one got in this week. I seem to remember that "Wired" was really popular back in the day.... followed by Mingus, composer of Goodbye Pork Pie Hat
