Everyone ready for this weeks unsolicited song request?

Sat. 5/23/09 2:16am From: Bill Mac

Bring it on!

Sat. 5/23/09 2:24am From: Steve

Leaving it to your better judgement and fate:

Joe Cocker's

1969 - Joe Cocker! - Hitchcock Railway (4:03)

-or-

1971 - Happy - Something's Coming On (2:07)

Sat. 5/23/09 2:37am From: Bill Mac

More intriguing that you left me with a choice - an artist that I don't know and another one that I'm not sure I like. Let me see what we got...

Sat. 5/23/09 3:04am From: larry

Hi Bill. Lusty and zesty? I had to get out of bed for that one. I know you don't usually do requests unless asked!!! But any Julie Feeney?

Sat. 5/23/09 3:08am From: Bill Mac

Hey Larry, let me check on that one as well...

Sat. 5/23/09 3:25am From: Steve

You and Frank O'Toole need to set-up a psychedelic shootout.

Sat. 5/23/09 3:30am From: Bill Mac

Lofty praise man... I DO know this one.... Joes old stuff was pretty decent... I always remember him being chanelled through John Belushi. Didn't help that they BOTH appeared as Joe Cocker in an SNL routine... amazing

Sat. 5/23/09 3:30am From: Steve

I doubt that song ever had mainstream airplay, but is it considered mainstream in a WFMU sense?

Sat. 5/23/09 3:39am From: Bill Mac

On one hand, we don't have a Cocker album, but I would think that the powers that be at FMU would appreciate what Cocker could do early in his career. I sure do. I must've heard it at some point on FM radio, in a previous life or something

Sat. 5/23/09 3:42am From: Steve

OK, no trillion dollar selling Cocker, but on the other hand Blossom Toes there for the playing. This must be your private collection.

Sat. 5/23/09 3:51am From: Bill Mac

There might be an explanation. We do keep our "second string" music deep in the bowels of the building

Sat. 5/23/09 4:09am From: Steve

AAaargh .. second string .. my musical repertoire is a second string revelation

Sat. 5/23/09 4:16am From: Bill Mac

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just because an album sold well 40 years ago doesn't mean it wasn't a good album... leave the judging to the obsessives that don't go out and smell the roses every now and again. Now get out there and take a walk mister!

Sat. 5/23/09 4:54am From: Sonaroj

Hey, Mr. Bill, what happened to you? Who is this other guy?

Sat. 5/23/09 5:05am From: Bill Mac

Hey Son,

Still me, just playing some oddities at the moment I guess....

Sat. 5/23/09 5:12am From: sonaroj

Okay, cool. Somehow, a station outa Virginia butted into your Arto Lindsey track. Actually playing some cool stuff, like MC5 boots, etc. Weird. Will see if I can get back to you.
