Playlist for Brian Turner - May 12, 2009

Tuesdays 3pm - 6pm on WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm wfmu.org

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Prince Rama of Ayodhya (Listen to this set: Real | )
Prince Rama of Ayodhya  Live in the WFMU Studios   Engineered by Glenn Luttman    The trio of Michael Collins, Taraka Larson, and Nimai Larson met in the summer of 2007 on a Florida Hare Krishna farm, relocating to Boston and immersing themselves deep into the creation of ritualistic, holistic, and cinematic psychedelic sound. Having played shows in the US and UK with the likes of Teeth Mountain, Magik Markers, Indian Jewelry and others, their live sets have garnered a reputation for incorporating its audiences into the instrumental fold, and drawing musically from a rich variety of multicultural musical sources. Tune in to hear them on Brian's show today, and check them out at several upcoming Brooklyn shows in April and May, listed on their My Space page. Songs today: Om Mane Padme Hum / Dawn of Astronomy / Haunted Aquarius / Panoptic Yes / Gouinda Hare - Gopala Hare / Suns of Bees / Mothlight / Aeolian Divine    2:07:32 (Real | )
