Evening Bethany! Diggn the tones.

Sun. 5/10/09 10:06pm From: texas scott

Look around. See if there is anything worth pointing out. Sure, talking about the weather is a cliche, but if there's something unusual about it--shablam!--you've got a great topic of conversation.

Sun. 5/10/09 10:09pm From: Steve

Hey there...

Are there spelling problems with the album name!?

Sun. 5/10/09 10:09pm From: risky!

Ooh! We should think up a special "Hit Parade" cocktail recipe...an appropriate mixture of things sweet, jagged, refreshing, intoxicating and delirium-inducing. Take a shot!

Sun. 5/10/09 10:33pm From: bethany

Uh, Drew - how come you're not at The Stone?? I'd be there if I could!

Sun. 5/10/09 11:00pm From: Steve

For Bethany -- wouldn't a pale pink champagne on crushed ice be right

Sun. 5/10/09 11:01pm From: Ike

My favorite beverage to go along with the show might be strong ginger beer, so maybe that could mix with something in a cocktail. (Not the usual crappy weak ginger ale, but serious ginger *beer*, like Maine Root.)

Sun. 5/10/09 11:02pm From: drew in carroll gardens

that is a mouthful! don't drink...sorry i can't help with this....

Sun. 5/10/09 11:02pm From: dale

Sun. 5/10/09 11:08pm From: numberK

I'm usually listening when I've got a lot of work to do before tomorrow afternoon, so to me it will always be black coffee with the Stochastic Hit Parade. Dunno if that really helps you that much unless we're talking Irish Coffee, which I don't really think is that appropriate for some reason. Gotta say I like the ginger beer idea.

Sun. 5/10/09 11:11pm From: e

peter brotzmann sounded amazing. what's this about cocktail ideas?

Sun. 5/10/09 11:13pm From: Steve

Uh-oh, I'm losing my balance

Sun. 5/10/09 11:15pm From: bethany

Ginger beer is a good idea - some kind of variation on a "Dark & Stormy" (ginger beer and dark rum).

Brotzman? In town? I'm confused...

With cocktails, I'm seeking recipies for a new drink called the "Hit Parade." Will try them out next week....

Sun. 5/10/09 11:22pm From: ranjit

how about gin, ginger beer, and a slice of that pink ginger they put in sushi platters.

Sun. 5/10/09 11:33pm From: bethany

That makes me think of some amazing ginger-infused vodka I had at the Russian Samovar in midtown. They use fresh, raw ginger and it totally set me on fire. (In a good way). Steering clear of bad "Asian-Fusion" Happy Hour drinks, maybe there's something with that??

Sun. 5/10/09 11:39pm From: drew in carroll gardens

BA--right on!

Sun. 5/10/09 11:40pm From: jean

how about a shot of a bitter, molassy scotch, dropped inside a pint of ginger beer?

Sun. 5/10/09 11:56pm From: drew in carroll gardens

great show, kiddo!

Sun. 5/10/09 11:57pm From: Stepham

pop rocks, diet coke, mentos, wasabi (forget ginger), vodka, w/ wheat grass chaser

Mon. 5/11/09 12:01am From: G.

The legal ID is a tongue twister now, woohoo!!!!

Wed. 6/17/09 5:01pm From: Erik

Bethany-
Glad to see you played "Fact, Fancy, Legend." Thanks! By the way, there's no backwards guitar on there. I don't quite remember how I did it, but it involved fast-forwarding an old recording on my Sony Discman, so it skipped through the track, then re-recording that. Or else it was the volume pedal; I don't remember which. I hope that doesn't ruin it for you!
Best,
Erik (area c)
