A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

I think that Python record is a studio album, not an adaptation of TV sketches.

Thu. 4/23/09 9:38am From: annie

which movie??

Thu. 4/23/09 9:39am From: Adrian in London

Morning/afternoon all.

Thu. 4/23/09 9:41am From: Manny

With Le Samourai, Melville perfected the movement. With Weekend, Godard destroyed it. I agree, Melville is often overlooked.

Thu. 4/23/09 9:42am From: trouble

there are sketches on the monty python record that i have seen on tv...annie the movie is leon morin, priest by jean pierre melville

Thu. 4/23/09 9:43am From: trouble

good morning adrian!

Thu. 4/23/09 9:45am From: Pearly Sweets

Hey team! How da ya do?

howdy,pearly!

Thu. 4/23/09 9:46am From: John Cleese

Many of our albums contain sketches that we also performed on our television programme. They are not, however, recordings of the version from the telly. We performed the skits anew in the studio. Cheers.

Thu. 4/23/09 9:47am From: sugarwolf

I think they rerecorded some of the sketches for the records?

Gah, I'm discussing Monty Python on the internt.

Thu. 4/23/09 9:51am From: Pearly Sweets

Gino!!

Thu. 4/23/09 9:52am From: Pearly Sweets

Now I wanna hear Gino... Trouble do you have Out of This World laying around some where?

Thu. 4/23/09 9:52am From: Bad Ronald

Does anyone have their three sided record "Matching Tie and Handkerchief"?

Thu. 4/23/09 9:53am From: John Cleese

I stand sheepish and corrected. My memory has failed me in this instance. It must have been the drugs.

Thu. 4/23/09 10:03am From: Cecile

who is this dan melchior? Every thing i've heard has been awesome.

Also, trouble, did you get your FotC 45 on Record Store Day?

Thu. 4/23/09 10:05am From: ?

Didn't Santana do this tune under another name? holy shite, who ripped off whom?!

Thu. 4/23/09 10:05am From: dc pat

Thu. 4/23/09 10:13am From: Cecile

AWWWWWW Emitt!

Thu. 4/23/09 10:18am From: orzolino

that emitt rhodes was so elliot smith... damn it, how i miss his music

Thu. 4/23/09 10:18am From: still b/p

I put this on a cassette player during a college painting studio class, and a middle aged student asked, "Do you think anyone is enjoying this?"

Thu. 4/23/09 10:19am From: Cecile

Ozolino, emmitt suffered from debilitating depression, too. He stopped recording for over 30 years because of it. So, two voices stilled by it.

Thu. 4/23/09 10:20am From: dc pat

this started out w/ ol' Pachelbel's chord progression...

Thu. 4/23/09 10:20am From: George Eliot

Wonderful music this morning, Trouble, thanks

Thu. 4/23/09 10:20am From: listener mark

This is very baroque. I'm sorting in the other room, away from the computer and I thought it was the beginning of Johann Pachelbel: Canon in D

Thu. 4/23/09 10:22am From: texas scott

yes, trouble great tunes this am,as always.

i'm mixing it with my buddha box!

Thu. 4/23/09 10:22am From: trouble

that is a fabulous question: do you think anyone is enjoying this? i love it...crazy. brian eno does seem to disagree with some peeps.

Thu. 4/23/09 10:22am From: still b/p

It is Pachelbel's Canon, looped and kneaded.

..Is there an Oblique Strategies card with the right response for that middle aged student 30 years ago?

Thu. 4/23/09 10:23am From: trouble

the buddha box! you are making me jealous. i don't have mine yet...

Thu. 4/23/09 10:23am From: listener mark

Thu. 4/23/09 10:23am From: dc pat

I for one dig the Enossification.

Thu. 4/23/09 10:24am From: texas scott

Thu. 4/23/09 10:26am From: Cecile

I gots me a Buddha box

Thu. 4/23/09 10:26am From: dc pat

the cool thing about Eno is when he talks--he's got some interesting ideas about music/art

Thu. 4/23/09 10:27am From: dc pat

beautiful..

Thu. 4/23/09 10:27am From: texas scott

i miss filmstrips...

Thu. 4/23/09 10:27am From: Doug from DC

"..Is there an Oblique Strategies card with the right response for that middle aged student 30 years ago? " :

Don't be afraid of things because they're easy to do

Thu. 4/23/09 10:27am From: listener mark

I loves the baroque. On snowy days, beside the fire, watching the snowflakes fall. The wind shifts slowly, ever so slowly. The stark contrast between light and shadow blurred by the flakes.Beautiful.

Thu. 4/23/09 10:28am From: jaypee

Ooooo.. the buddha box is nifty. A friend of mine wrote an audio app that's kinda similar: http://muddlegeist.com/AADD/AudioADD.html

Thu. 4/23/09 10:28am From: dc pat

"Bach and before, Ives and after"

Thu. 4/23/09 10:30am From: Frustrated

Nice fade-out. Now I'll never know why Jasper Johns included the ruler in his artwork.

Thu. 4/23/09 10:30am From: PMD

Hi trouble and all - actually have to work this am but really enjoying the music.

Thu. 4/23/09 10:30am From: nasok

Thu. 4/23/09 10:41am From: trouble

Thu. 4/23/09 10:42am From: dc pat

FUCKIN A! Thanks holland, I just got sundance because of cable-griping...

What does 'esch' mean?

Thu. 4/23/09 10:44am From: Cecile

Hey, I might be able to score one for you, are you interested? The place I went to limited us to just one, but some other hardcore fans might have been able to work something out. I"ll let you know if you're into it.

esch oder anarchie? I don't want to type it all out?

Thu. 4/23/09 10:45am From: George Eliot

is flight of the conchords still running?

Thu. 4/23/09 10:48am From: Cecile

It just ended. If they're smart, they will not do a 3rd season, it ended so perfectly. Or at least wait several years before doing TV again. They are touring right now.

Thu. 4/23/09 10:49am From: Cecile

Good gateway drug, Trouble! Icepack will thank you later!

Thu. 4/23/09 10:50am From: Georgie Peorgie

Thanks Cecile, i had no idea. i agree with that about the third season. too much of a good thing, ya know... i've seen some youtube things ..

Thu. 4/23/09 10:51am From: dc pat

Wait, I missed that! Who's in chain and the gang? Some one from NoUlysses?

Thu. 4/23/09 10:52am From: Cecile

I like the YouTube stuff, but really, seeing the whole thing as a piece makes it all better. And you get the layers and the little in jokes and whatnot.

Sorry, dc pat.

Hell, I'll buy the DVD.

I saw the fattest daddy robin in my garden. I think there must be a nest around. He was looking pretty proud of himself, or at least I projected that on him.

Thu. 4/23/09 11:18am From: still b/p

...when the bad dad robin goes snob snob snobbin' along...

Thu. 4/23/09 11:19am From: listener mark

You're welcome JC Jensen

Thu. 4/23/09 11:19am From: Georgie Peorgie
