  12:32pm
annie:

you talkin to me cecile? no, just a chicken pot pie. this week. i'm making ginger cookies, though. all my trees came and i have to plant them......lots of work ahead, i'm in denial about it today. and the babysitter of the seedlings did not water them, so i have to sow many all over. i am bumming so therefore sulking in a buddhist way. if that's possible.
  12:33pm
Liz B.:

Right on, Lisa, you are one prepared girl scout!
  12:38pm
Cecile:

The Bats are so much more than ex-Clean. They are the m-fing BATS! I know you are trying to up the "superstar" interest for the new listeners. though.

Annie, your baked good sound lovely, and BAH for not watering your seedlings. Bad stuff. You are having a zen-like snit?

I have to make banana bread tonight for my neighbor.
  12:39pm
Cecile:

W "MF" U is a "MF"
  12:39pm
Jess:

gerardo:

as long as you're not spelled as "WMILF"...
  12:42pm
annie:

yeah, i'm embracing my disappointment. all those little baby carrots all dried and withered. just sad... anyway, too cold to do anything today, so i'm stayin in and listening to music and planning the next pot of coffee. i'm listening.. i'm using tthe fresh butter for the cookies, it is silver palate's 3-ginger recipe only tweaked with clean ingredients. and i double all the gingers..
  12:44pm
bellham:

this teepee has a bit of a nz 3ds vibe to it
  12:44pm
Cecile:

Aw, and carrots are bitch to start. Bad.

nice! what are the three gingers? dried, fresh and candied? Do you have the recipe?
  12:45pm
bellham:

oh wait task, right?!?!
  12:46pm

  12:55pm
annie:

gerardo, it is my life's blood.. i feel as if they had been murdered. i even cried when a goldfish i had jumped out of it's bowl when i wasn't there... call any vegetable gerardo!!
  12:59pm
Cecile:

gardening is easy on the pocketbook and good for the mind. i won't get much of one in this year, but at least a few flowers. And, yeah, I'm not as sensitive as Annie, but a droopy tomato plant can get me worked up.
  1:01pm
annie:

it sure does calm the nerves. poking little holes in soil, dropping seeds one at a time.. this weekend i was house-sitting and planted her seeds for her cause she just had no time.. i felt great...
  1:05pm
gerardo:

i see what you mean, girls:

i lived what happened to annie with ther goldfish when i was a kid. my mom took me to school and forgot to change the water. when she came back, the fish was floating lifeless...

this is the first time i listen to vainica doble - after 5 years of just reading about them!
  1:05pm
Matt F.:

Great show, Liz! Hatin' those little pollen spores, myself. What's up with the tri-state weather? It's meshuggah!
  1:07pm
annie:

we have snow here!!! i'm annoyed... 41 degrees.. april is, indeed, the cruelest month.
  1:07pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Past weekend was supposed to be our last frost, spend Sat between rain showers cleaning out the herb garden, can't wait for fresh basil for the tomatoes.
  1:07pm
Liz B.:

I hear ya, Matt! If I'm gonna have pollen lodged in my sinuses, I at least would like some good weather to sooth my sneezing!
  1:08pm
annie:

our last frost is june 11!!!
  1:08pm
annie:

liz, i'll send you some snow to chill them out and stop the pollen..
  1:09pm

  1:11pm
annie:

i am coming to love laura's music so much...
  1:17pm
Cecile:

Hey, Jinx Lennon will stab you in the eye.
  1:18pm
Matt F.:

Yes, Annie! That song was pretty convincing to me, too. I just made myself a note to give her discs another try.
  1:20pm
gerardo:

jinx lennon is john lennon's cat incarnation appearing in pixie and dixie show, c?
  1:22pm
Cecile:

no, he is an awesome Irish spoken word artist who was on Billy Jam's show 3 wks ago. Just a brilliant wordsmith and speaker. He wrote a great piece on home invasion called Protect Thee and Thin or something like that with the eye-stabbing line.
  1:25pm
Cecile:

well, I think you're right.
But the SSD has a way of pulling the suck out of success... Just saying this with love, Ken.
  1:26pm
Sean Daily:

Actually, gerardo, Jinx Lennon really IS John Lennon's latest incarnation as a housecat.
  1:27pm
gerardo:

another thing to look for in the 'fmu archives - thanx, c! ;)

(btw, the castellano voices for pixie and dixie sounded like cubans from la habana, and jinks's voice was performed by an actor with a strong andalucía accent)

go sneezing, liz, go!
  1:28pm
lolJinx:

I wil stab Shon in the I.

  1:43pm
Cecile:

I haven't seen anyone, but will see Mastodon in 10 days. Then after that Michael Yonkers,, hopefully, and FotC.
  1:43pm
Sean Daily:

Liz, what language is this Da Jim track being sung in?
  1:44pm
Liz B.:

Da Jim is Thai.
  1:44pm
chris:

  1:45pm
Cecile:

roofless:

  1:58pm
detroitdave:

Hi Liz...hi all! Is this music from an 80's video game?
  1:59pm
dc pat:

holy crap, the Specrum was where I saw my first rock show - The Who. Haven't been back since.
  2:02pm
roofless:

i'm not sure if you're goofin, but if you're not, the Spectrum i'm talking about is Sonic Boom from Spaceman 3.
  2:02pm
chris:

Though it would be really cooll to see Specrtrum at the Spectrum.
  2:03pm
dc pat:

sort of goofin, I really did see the Who at the Spectrum. Is that place still there?
  2:04pm
Cecile:

Have you seen Mastodon before?
I've missed them twice within hours of the show, planning on going.
  2:09pm
Ike:

I meant to say earlier: Isn't "WFMU East Orange, WMFU Mount Hope" going to be a tongue-twister? Will all the DJs need to practice it?
  2:10pm
Pearly Sweets:

The whole group made a stop with billy jam last friday too.
  2:11pm
Cecile:

911 Thesaurus and the Fly Girls were on Billy Jam's show this past Friday.
  2:11pm
annie:

this is as enticing as listening to the events calendar on OZ in new orleans. makes me want to just time travel to all these great shows and sleep on people's couches..
  2:11pm
Cecile:

get out of my head, pearly. ;D
  2:11pm
The Log Lady:

Jandek's in town again? Man, I should check out the youtubage.
  2:13pm
Pearly Sweets:

We both know that we're the same person just changing our screen name to throw people off.
  2:14pm
Cecile:

Gotta get my old tuxedo pressed, gotta sew a button on my vest,
'cause tonight I've gotta look my best, Jandek's back in town.
  2:14pm
Cecile:

muhahahahahaha.
Now I'll pretend to go to lunch, but will be really posting as Pearly.
  2:15pm
The Log Lady:

That Jandek's pretty fly, for a white guy
  2:17pm
Parq:

Re FMU/MFU, I agree with Ike. I'm worried about my ability to say it, and I'm not going to have to do so outside a casual conversation once in a while.
  2:25pm
gerardo:

love this lofi feeling!
  2:25pm
Ike:

I was just on a pirate radio station's web site. They have a comments section too. I was explaining to them that they're broadcasting illegally. They don't believe me! Hilarious. Oh well, that one's not interfering with anybody as far as I know, so whatever.
  2:26pm
oh yeaaah???:

what is this pirate radio station?
  2:27pm
AnAnonymousParty:

The problem, Ike, is that you failed to punctuate every sentence with a hearty "Arggh!"
  2:28pm
Marshall Stacks:

Speaking of pirates, it looks like someone is squatting on wmfu.org.

Arggh!
  2:29pm
annie:

my morning started out pretty shabby, to be sure. i can rely on fmu to perk me up..
  2:29pm
dc blackbeard:

and what be so bad about broadcasting illegally, anyways, ARRRRrrrr....?
  2:31pm
stingy d:

ike and a failure to punctuate... makes my day.
  2:32pm
Marshall Stacks:

Love the organ part on the Funkadelic track. Is that Bernie Worrell?
  2:32pm
The Dread Pirate Sean:

Arrr, dc blackbeard. Arrr.
  2:34pm
I AM THE DWEAD PIWATE WOBEWTS:

THEWE WILL BE NO SUWVIVOWS
  2:34pm
Dread Pirate Cummmerbun:

Oh, really? Let's take this to the fire swamp.
  2:35pm
Ike:

Oh, they call themselves "Elite Radio" at 97.5 in the Newark/Oranges area (maybe from E. Orange). www.myeliteradio.com. Boring Caribbean station. Not really causing trouble, I'm just taking out my anger on a 89.7 Latino pirate in Clifton that interferes a LOT with WKCR, but unfortunately those scumbags don't have a website (that I can find).
  2:36pm
Dwead Piwate Kitty:

im in ur twezur, eatin ur cheezburgers
  2:36pm
ROUS:

we are really misunderstood, if you ask me.
  2:37pm

  2:43pm
detroitdave:

  2:43pm

  2:44pm

  2:44pm
Glenn L:

I'm heartbroken.
  2:46pm

  2:47pm
dc pat:

  2:49pm
detroitdave:

Thats OK if theyre twisted Annie............OH.....if it happens get pitchers.
  2:49pm
gerardo:

movida eshpañola? jodé!
  2:49pm
Ike:

I just don't get Death. It's like the sonic equivalent of bottom-of-the-line American cheese. I have too much of an irony deficiency to like it ironically in a hipster way, and it's too smeg-headed to appreciate straight-up. Oh well, later y'all!
  2:49pm
Tim:

Hey Liz Berg thanks for introducing me to Zenlo!!!
  2:51pm
stingy d:

fishmonkeystew:

Thanks for the Monks and the Intelligence, Liz! Sweeeeet show today! As usual.
  2:56pm
detroitdave:

The Intelligence has a great sound....never heard of them before. Great pix Liz.
  2:57pm
Fame Jixx:

Huh? Who? Oh you're discussing the famed actor Jamie Foxx? Nope not speaking about him at all. I was always a Tommy Davidson fan myself.
  2:57pm
dc Ike:

and especially thanks for Death, it made Ike leave..
  2:57pm
stingy d:

ok ok, you're alright jixx.
  2:58pm
Ike:

I came back, DC Punk!
  2:58pm

  2:59pm
Fame Jixx:

  2:59pm
