I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

  12:03pm
Ike:

Yeah! Scratch it!

Only WFMU can get me high. Neither alcohol nor weed seem to have any effect.
  12:04pm
Pearlÿ Sweets:

Bryce, you were in my dream last night. In the dream you and I were hanging out in an under water house trying to figure out what to do. We couldn't leave the house because a hurricane was coming. So we played Yahtzee.
  12:04pm
Pearlÿ Sweets:

The rest of the dream took place at work and was not very interesting.
  12:05pm
Drunk right now:

I like yahtzee
  12:06pm
GP:

Ah Flash..you truly ARE the Grandmaster!
  12:06pm
Cecile:

Flash! One time!
  12:08pm
Glenn L:

The German version of Yahtzee's really hardcore,
pretty damn sure it's called Nazi.
  12:08pm
GP:

Is that Clay Pigeon on the vocals?
  12:09pm
Cecile:

Glenn L, my mom is so into Yahtzee my sisters call her the Yahtzee Nazi.

I hate that f'ing game.
  12:09pm
GP:

Yeah Glenn, I found that out...note to self...learn German first before playing German Yahtzee.
  12:10pm
bcsterrett:

Which Yann Tomita album is this from?
  12:10pm
annie:

i just love a simple game of go
  12:11pm
Glenn L:

A roll of the dice really does decide your fate.
  12:11pm
Cecile:

I like all the games like Trouble, Sorry or Parcheesi where you get to slide and knock the persson back to start.
  12:12pm
annie:

cecile a person's true nature sometimes emerges in those games..
  12:12pm
Pearlÿ Sweets:

I just recently started playing Yahtzee. Funny enough the first time I played it alone I scored four Yahtzees. Every time I've played against someone, however I have never got a yahtzee. I couldn't tell you how the Bryce game went last night... I'm not sure if we even played or just talked about playing.
  12:13pm
Cecile:

heh heh.
  12:14pm
mb:

Dalek keeps it grimey
  12:14pm
annie:

hey bryce, i'm gonna go out and play with seeds and soil... i'm turning up the volume... rage on...
  12:15pm
Ike:

Do rapping Däleks still try to exterminate all humans?
  12:16pm
still b/p:

Who knows.
  12:17pm
Carmichael:

Damn. Damn. This is definitely shit flyin' Friday. Calm me down, Bryce.
  12:21pm
maria:

hi bryce. how you doing today? are you actually there, or are you an impostor?
  12:21pm
Bryce's mom:

Son, good to hear ya bumpin' that abstract hip-hop ish. Good to know what I thought you wasn't all lost. Yo don't forget to give me back that ATCQ cd you borrowed. Word.
  12:24pm
Parq:

'Cile, is Trouble the one with the pop-up dome for the die? I've dug that game man and boy for as long as it's been out.

Annie, I thought Watchmen was terrific. But I saw it in Imax and I generally really go for that kind of picture.
  12:27pm
Ike:

The first time I ever heard abstract or independent hip-hop was Basehead circa 1991. I was like, "Say what?" And then Rise Robots Rise *really* confused me.
  12:27pm
annie:

parq, see it's all a matter of perspective. if i had been seein it with my kid and in imax i prolly would have totally dug it... alone in a small room with a dvd running... well, meh! there is a great theater near here. he might bring it back. otherwise. i guess i'm out another be-in with great film.
  12:27pm

Dälek always has an excellent soundscape to rap over...

Doug from DC:

This is sick. I'm going to the record store for my lunch hour. Thanks.
  12:30pm
Parq:

For pity's sake, stop already with the Dr. Who references! The kid just cracked up on that series and she's been home on spring break armed with a stack of DVDs. I'm hearing that theramin-y theme song in my sleep.
  12:32pm
Sean Daily:

But Paaaaarrrrrrq! Torturing you is my hobby!
  12:33pm
Carmichael:

Exactly Parq. I feel about people who are into Dr. Who the same way I feel about people who are into EST.
  12:34pm
Ike:

Theremin-y? Wow, so she's watching the old classics, not the modernized 2005-onwards version?

Carm, jeez. Est?!? Yikes. It's just TV.
  12:35pm
postmanpaul:

ach the noo exterminate, is a scottish dialect. hehe
  12:36pm
Carmichael:

Which is my point, Ike. To others, it's the sole reason for living. And talking endlessly about it.
  12:38pm
Parq:

No, Ike, it's the new ones, hence not theramin, only theramin-y. Currently, we're watching the one with the blonde babe from the projects. Carm, the daughter's not one of those, thank the Lord. Or the Timelord.
  12:40pm
BSI:

ah, lovely.
me needs heep big tumble down the fleshy organ vortex into DRONE ZONE...
  12:41pm
Sean Daily:

To celebrate Parq's daughter power-watching Doctor Who, I think Bryce should play the ten minute "What are you doing here?" Doctor Who fan reel.

Heh heh heh...
  12:43pm
bryce:

you hhhhhhhhhheeelllllooooooooooooooooooooooo

i'm hummingbirding into sliding doors. i'll stuff the foam chunks back in soon.

not so much "keeper" as tele-psychic spinal-column puppeteer supergod thing. It's weird at first, but once the swelling subsides, it'll all be.... just.... fine.
  12:50pm
annie:

must... turn....it.....up.....
  12:51pm
Cecile:

Parq, that is it indeed.

Annie, I posted on Doug's list, but my husband liked Watchmen very much. Just plan on a long movie...
  12:52pm
Parq:

Quiet, he's about to say the soothe.
  12:52pm
bryce:

a full 8x4x6 is a happy 8x4x6
  12:54pm
Ike:

BSI and b/p, I like the way you think/link.

Carm, honestly, the author Charles Stross, by comparison, reveals the absurd limitations of DW or most TV sci-fi, but it's still fun.
  12:54pm
annie:

yeah, cecile i'm gonna have to see it with someone who digs that stuff, achieve the contact high. jeez i love these beats..
  12:54pm
SmallyBiggs:

plan on a long, soft-core porn movie, annie.
  12:56pm
annie:

true dat? really, biggs? hhmm. then i have to pick wisely my companion..
  12:58pm
Parq:

Annie, there's really only one scene that's over the top, but that one scene is definitely over the top. Also, if it matters, there are some really gruesome violent scenes.
  12:58pm
SmallyBiggs:

Yes, truly. Lots and lots of graphic sexual content.
  12:59pm
SmallyBiggs:

Yes, truly. Lots and lots of graphic sexual content.
  12:59pm
Carmichael:

Ike, I'm just venting. I have about 10 different-sized boots stuck halfway up my ass, so I'm perceiving the darker side of Man this A.M.

Things will be better the more I listen.
  1:01pm
Parq:

Smally is stuttering - that scene really got to you, huh?
  1:01pm
annie:

i read about the massive amount of violence.. .. hhmm. these reviews are quite helpful... is it worth the effort? i'd have to view it with someone who likes that kind of stuff.. oh!! yeah, my other half.. he'd love it!! ok... i'll have him boost a copy
  1:02pm
Cecile:

My husband DID NOT Like the violence, but apart from that...
  1:06pm
annie:

normally, i like most stuff under the right circumstances. even the bad stuff like beavis and butthead and jim carrey... .. if bob isn't interested i'd prolly not see it alone.
  1:09pm
Carmichael:

Speaking of "the bad stuff", was I dreaming last night or did I really see some Hollywood gossip talk about a new 3 Stooges movie with Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro and Jim Carrey???
  1:12pm
BSI:

I can see it now...
Benicio Del Toro waving that goddamned knife around and ordering Sean Penn to throw the radio in the bathtub when White Rabbit peaks...
...or did I dream THAT?

hell yes, Country Moog! we Nashvillians are proud of Gil Trythall, although I don't think he lives here anymore. I had a friend who was so obsessed with this record, he finally tracked Mr. Trythall down in Brazil.

Though there's not as much innuendo, I occasionally work with a guy named Bucky Love. We also have a local real estate agent named Debbie Gumbs.....

I worked in that industry in a previous life. I worked around guys named Sam Sonite, Pete Zerria, and Rick Shaw. Also a woman named Sue Nommi.

  1:57pm
Jonathan Marx:

Yup, Brazil. Don't know if he's still there. Yeah, I've got both of his Moog-goes-country LPs. They were released on a local label, which also put out one of my all-time favorite records, The Feminine Complex, which was five high-school girls from Nashville. We have much to be proud of here in Music City USA!
  1:58pm
Mike Fun:

Loving the electronic stuff. Thanks, Bryce! Maybe some Raymond Scott? (yeah, I know, this isn't Irwin's show...)
  2:02pm
Carmichael:

I found the collection called "Ohm -- The History of Electronic Sound" for a steal at a used CD place. Some truly enlightening stuff on there, as far back as the early '50s.
  2:03pm
Jonathan Marx:

Wow, a whole other side of Gil Trythall I didn't even know about! Here's an interview with him that my pal wrote up for the weekly paper in Nashville a few years ago:

http://www.nashvillescene.com/2001-01-18/stories/totally-wired

Oh, great show, by the way! Should have mentioned that already.
  2:03pm
Hugo:

I once heard Buchla and Rosenboom from a record they did together. Very Terry Riley-ish. Analogue is making a comeback, isn't it?

Off to see Faust this evening. The band, not the play.
  2:03pm
Pearlÿ Sweets:

I had one of the voice/tape manipulations from that OHM box set as my answering machine message for almost two years.
  2:05pm
Hugo:

Yep, got the Ohm. Recommended. There is also a five-double cd set of electronica and noise from Sub Rosa.
  2:06pm

  2:37pm
BSI:

damn... now I need a Bollywood fix.
NAGIN is a good one. Snake woman kills everyone. And sings. Awesome.
  2:38pm
Pearlÿ Sweets:

I'd like to think this is the song that is on as you walk out of a deep dark forest into a sunny valley. Your legs scrap the tall grass and as your eyes slowly adjust to the sun again, you notice your whole body is swarming with ticks. This song is the sound of the ticks dancing on your body.
  2:39pm
Mike Fun:

Sounds like Hans Reichel's Daxophone
  2:39pm
Pearlÿ Sweets:

The film version would be directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
  2:40pm
Parq:

When I make my Bryce biopic, I'm going to call it "The Sound of Ticks Dancing".
  2:42pm
Cecile:

I think Alejandro Jodorowsky should direct that 3 Stooges remake.
I like that Parq.
Has it been weeks, b/p? Sorry. But not real sorry.
They should play conchs. that would be cool.
  2:43pm
Joanne:

This sounds like southern Italian music. If it is-- it's so beautiful.
  2:43pm
BSI:

In Jodorowsky's version, the ticks would have highly amplified mandible chattery noises and nearby, a woman with a one-eyed pervert rabbit would be punching a wall three hundred feet high with ten thousand burning potatoes nailed to it, and screaming GOD! GOD! GOD! GOD!

.... holy hell, I'd love that movie.
  2:44pm
bryce:

joanne, it was sicilian!
  2:45pm
Hugo:

That kind of movie would even make me want to go to a cinema ...
  2:45pm
Carmichael:

Too bad Klaus Kinski's dead. He'd make a perfect Moe. Out on a raft in the river with his dead daughter, screaming to the heathens on shore.
  2:47pm

  2:48pm

Almost Jam time! How many hours different from NYC is Limerick?
  2:52pm
Cecile:

isn't it early evening next tuesday there?
  2:53pm

Five-hour time difference for those of us on European Mean Time. Limerick is GMT, so four hours?
  2:56pm
