Hi Tom

Sun. 3/22/09 6:37am From: june

I presume that you are being ironic ...about Tom Verlaine..."who" he is.

Sun. 3/22/09 6:43am From: Dan B

June, yes, I was being ironic. I know he's the guy that invented the inflatable rubber inner tube!

Sun. 3/22/09 6:43am From: Dan B

Wait, I meant the television!

Sun. 3/22/09 6:46am From: Dan B

He browsed my records for a while at the WFMU record fair this past year...that sounds kinda dirty, whoops.

Sun. 3/22/09 6:50am From: june

Yep, the inner tube.

Sun. 3/22/09 6:57am From: Bas, NL

Hey Bas -- love that Badkar record...downloaded it somewhere...

Sun. 3/22/09 6:58am From: Tom L (Hallock Hill)

I agree, Bas. That was amazing. This sax is good wake up music too!

Sun. 3/22/09 6:59am From: postmanpaul

last time i heard that the snake belly danced out of the basket.

Sun. 3/22/09 6:59am From: andy glasgow

Morning Dan & everyone! Getachew is amazing. I keep meaning to get his cd w/The Ex, that can't be anything less than awesome I bet

Sun. 3/22/09 7:05am From: Bas, NL

Found a lot of info online by now... At least, it seems to be: Arrrrrchimedes Badkar ;)

Sun. 3/22/09 7:11am From: june

First time listening to your show. Cool. And yes, I must never doubt the WFMU dj.

Sun. 3/22/09 7:14am From: Dan B

Nice to have you along, June. That Getatchew/Ex concert last summer was stunning, the CD is great too -- it's eerie how well they work together...

Sun. 3/22/09 7:40am From: Graham Stark

Good morning from a sunny and almost warm England.

That Dokaka thing is really funny. I didn't think funny King Crimson was possible.

thanks for the show, Graham

Sun. 3/22/09 7:42am From: peepingmanpaul

its like window shopping dan, you can look but you cant try it on!

Sun. 3/22/09 7:45am From: Dan B

Graham, how do you measure the arrival of spring over there? Here, there's a crocus up in my yard and the forsythia is opening already! Yeah, Dokaka makes everything work better -- he also covers a lot of Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, etc.

Sun. 3/22/09 8:09am From: postmanpaul

dan, as a rule this is how we measure the arrival of spring down here in the south of the uk: first we have snow drops then crocus then daffodils then violets then flowering cherry then magnolia then baby lambs and then easter eggs; the magnolia is about to flower before the end of this month, as a rule.

Sun. 3/22/09 8:09am From: Graham Stark

Definitely spring. We've got a Forsythia, too; it's a glorious yellow. And the pear tree in our garden is starting to bud. There's apple blossom everywhere.

Sun. 3/22/09 8:12am From: Dan B

Ah, and tulips breaking through the ground all around my backyard, sticking their fat green leaves up for some sun. No lambs born in my Brooklyn garage yet, though.

Sun. 3/22/09 8:16am From: tokindaddy420

well, seems like it's time to wake and bake! ...anyone want to join me?

Sun. 3/22/09 8:18am From: Dan B

Working on your sourdough technique, daddy?

Sun. 3/22/09 8:19am From: tokindaddy420

yup!

Sun. 3/22/09 8:21am From: tokindaddy420

velvet underground rocks

Sun. 3/22/09 8:25am From: Dan B

Did you know "Velvet Underground" is actually a term for a sourdough kneading technique?

Sun. 3/22/09 8:31am From: Glenn L

Really? I've never ever heard that before.
You WNYU DJ's sure know your stuff.

Oh, if you're gonna add reverb to your voice you should change your on air name to Danny Delirium.

Sun. 3/22/09 8:36am From: Danny Delirium Tremens

It's all about getting a velvety bottom on the loaf. I learned that at my continuing ed class at New York University, a fine institution if there ever was one.

Sun. 3/22/09 8:36am From: ZAX

these swallows round my balcony might point to something

Sun. 3/22/09 8:45am From: zax

OMG, Genesis P. headlines these swiss band!

Sun. 3/22/09 8:53am From: Andy/Glasgow

Michael McDonald isn't the best, but he sounds quite ominous at the wrong speed: http://www.zshare.net/audio/54179191a7670cb7/

Sun. 3/22/09 5:30pm From: lou

03.22.09 opening, echo voice, did not sound insencere, with the bass of "necks" behind you, & at that time of the a.m.,together it all complimented each other. also thanks 4 the education between sets.from a second time listener.
