  12:13pm
Liz B.:

Hi everyone, and welcome! Not sure if the top ranking comments are most google-friendly... hmm.
  12:16pm
jorge:

lol, everybody seems so happy about it, always ask myself why, it will be 1 year this march that i know your show liz, we have to have a couple of ceviches to celebrate, ceviche + pisco sour that would be extra yummy
  12:17pm
Liz B.:

I celebrated prematurely, Jorge, had ceviche and pisco sour at a Peruvian restaurant in Brooklyn this weekend!
  12:19pm
Jorge:

no way !, thats not fair, cant fin some decent ceviche here in Barcelona yet, i remember a really weird conversation i had with James from YLT a while ago, he knows peruvian cousine..and love it by the way
  12:23pm
BEN:

  12:28pm
jorge:

  12:28pm
SmallyBiggs:

I FUCKIN' LOVE THIS STATION!!!!!!
  12:31pm
peter choyce:

great segway- mixing the end of Telepathe into this odd nosdam. Haunting- such an inspiring mood. i'm gonna do laundry!
  12:31pm
Ike:

Yeah Smally, damn straight! AWWOOOOO!
  12:31pm
gerardo:

qué tal, liz!
hola a todos!
(did anyone say ceviche? ;))
  12:35pm
SmallyBiggs:

ok, I'm gonna ask a silly question, so don't make fun of my stupidity. But I always wanted to know what a segway is, in this context....
  12:37pm
jorge:

that 36 erreurs track is some sort of remix you have done liz ? cause doesn´t sound like the original for me, specially the last part where all the blips and blops appears
  12:39pm
Parq:

Smally, a segway (also spelled seque) is the fade out fade in transition between two cuts in a set of music. Or, more generally, the transition from one cut to another. Good segue means that the latter cut sounded really good coming out of the former one. Kay?
  12:39pm
SmallyBiggs:

What in god's name is a segway??!!
  12:41pm
SmallyBiggs:

Oh thank you very much. Now I can sleep at night. :)
  12:41pm
SmallyBiggs:

Oh thank you very much. Now I can sleep at night. :)
  12:42pm
Doug from DC:

A segway is a two-wheeled motorized vehicle, piloted standing-up by retarded tourists. A segue is a part of the DJ's art.
  12:43pm
Liz B.:

Hey Jorge, I'm pretty sure I just MP3-ified track 30 from 36 Erreurs... but it was so long ago. Will have to dig out my CD tonight to double-check.
  12:43pm
SmallyBiggs:

lol, o yea your right, thanks man
  12:43pm
the dictionary:

a segue can be a noun or a verb, too. which is nice for it.
  12:44pm
Liz B.:

Segway:

Mall cops at the Jersey City mall definitely had some of these!
  12:45pm
jorge:

weird, maybe i have another version of the same track or something like that,,,,thanks in advance
  12:46pm
Doug from DC:

Great photo, Liz! I forgot they use them too.
  12:49pm
gerardo:

this vaporetto track reminds me of some frank zappa-mystery disc sections...
  12:51pm
luke poot:

yo, wasn't that track BY oso el roto,, the french galerie pache guy????
  12:52pm
Doug from DC:

I checked out Cheer-Accident on YouTube recently, and found out about their public access TV program. It was a little confusing at first, since I was expecting band videos.
  12:55pm
Liz B.:

Luke, you might be correct. Our CD is labeled as a compilation, but perhaps it's Oso El Roto performing with others.
  12:57pm
matt bua:

Curious if you saw the pipette house rendering via snail mail?

thanks for the sounds

M
  12:59pm
Liz B.:

Hi Matt, yes I received your drawing on Friday, really cool!! Way better than anything I could have come up with!
  1:02pm
Doctor B.:

Great show, as usual! Zombi's definitely got that Berlin, 1975 thing going!

BTW, not to intrude, but is there any chance we here in web-radio land could have a look at the drawing of which Matt Bua speaks?
  1:08pm
Liz B.:

Don't have a digital copy of Matt's illustration, sorry. Maybe he has posted it online somewhere?
  1:09pm
paula:

one of the best Liz shows ever -- and that's a really high bar to begin with...THANKS, Liz!!
  1:13pm
north guinea hills:

Matt Bua saved my ass once when I was supposed to dj at the East River Bar. The club evidently was lacking needles and one RCA cord. Free103point9 was upstairs back then, so i called Tom Roe upstate, and he gave me Matt's #. Matt walked from a few blocks away to help me to the aforementioned lacking materials needed to dj w/ a functioning PA.

Thanks again Matt!

That was around 2005.....
  1:14pm
annie:

good morning everyone!!! not at home now, using soomeone else's computer and feeding it it's first dose of FMU energy. woohoo!
  1:22pm

Hey everybody! We need to cut off the Realaudio and Windows streams for about 15 minutes. Jump over to MP3 of AAC if you can: http://wfmu.org/audiostream.shtml
  1:23pm
BSI:

  1:23pm
BSI:

  1:25pm
marty mcsorley:

my eye balls are bleeding (in a good way)
  1:27pm
mb:

Can you play the "Andy and Frangy Show Theme"? I love that tune and all its obtusion.
  1:29pm
Ike:

My eyeballs are dancing! Also in a good way!

Hey folks, for low-bandwidth, AAC+ sounds waaaaay better than Windows or Real anyway. Paste this into Winamp, VLC, or Foobar:
http://aacplus.wfmu.org

Who the hell still uses Real anyway?!?
  1:32pm
Liz B.:

I cannot resist the lasers....
  1:33pm
gerardo:

is disco music a universal language?....

(thanx, luke)
  1:34pm
BSI:

disco lasers and goldfish elevator-shoes MADE this world, Liz...
  1:42pm
Ike:

Drop-outs! Drop-outs! MP3 and AAC+ too. And are we trapped in a giant loop or is this Boredoms/Lindstrom track just really long?
  1:42pm
annie:

crap...lost the feed. ah. me....
  1:44pm
Liz B.:

We are doing some server maintenance, but I guess it's leaving everyone high and dry. Let me know which streams you guys have lost.
  1:45pm
Maestroso:

20k stream is out.
  1:46pm
BSI:

Selfishly, I'm glad you're all suffering.... 'cuz I thought it was just me. My connection never fails (128k via iTunes). Crap, if I lose my FMU feed today, I may not know how to function ... don't tease me, God... [shakes fist at corporate office drop-ceiling tiles] ... don't tease me, you..... God.....
  1:46pm
i have nada!:

annie in delaware county.. :)
  1:47pm
The Voice of Cheeze:

I'm getting the feed from the 128k mp3 link but only intermittantly. Tried the WMP and no dice. Tried the 24k AAC and same as 128k.
  1:47pm
BSI:

fart it all.
god has forsaken the 128.....
  1:47pm
Louise Stambaugh:

I thought the drop-outs were part of the Boredoms remix. I mean, c'mon.
  1:48pm
Ike:

AAC+ has skipping and drop-outs.

I believe the demon WMP and Real streams were *supposed* to go down based on Ken's message above, but not the others.
  1:48pm
annie:

i feel somewhat assured that i am not being singled out....
  1:48pm
gerardo:

128 k is ok here in Chile...
  1:50pm
Liz B.:

Thanks for letting me know what's up. I've filed a report with the appropriate authorities.
  1:51pm
BSI:

  1:53pm
gerardo:

  1:56pm
The Voice of Cheeze:

Getting a more consistent stream now on the 128 k link now
  1:59pm
annie:

i feel like i've been sent to coventry. no sound or feed at all.
  1:59pm
BSI:

I went wandering 14th Street DC in a daze, lost in a coma of melancholy.

I think "the authorities" brought me back to the office, propped me up in the chair, & tried the 128 stream -- seems OK now. Pity to have missed La Dusseldorf & Pinhas. But any landing you can walk away from is a good one, yes?
  2:00pm
Ken:

Is everything back up now? It should be.
  2:01pm
tombom:

128 and aac ones are working here now at least
  2:01pm
annie:

  2:04pm
Maestroso:

20k is back! Thank you - that's the only stream available to me here.
  2:06pm
Ken:

Sorry about all the problems folks. Some people just don't respect the law of unintended consequences. I for one, worship at that law's alter.
  2:06pm
