Playlist for Irene Trudel - January 26, 2009

Mondays 3pm - 6pm on WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm wfmu.org

Music floating on calmer seas is "netted" by my ears and released to the hungry listeners. It's a stringy catch, but frequently live and always delectable.

Live performance by Ravens and Chimes

Straight-ahead, no nonsense indie-pop is Ravens and Chimes at its finest. The six NYC-based bandmates were all serious music students, so they toss a lot of odd, folky instruments into the fray and still keep yer toes tapping. Ravens and Chimes have one album, "Reichenbach Falls," behind them, tour constantly, snapping photos along the way and even sell the odd raven doll made from old socks at their gigs. They popped by the WFMU studios for a live set.

Irene - if u could turn back the clock, and be 18 again and get into any college, where would u have gone?

Mon. 1/26/09 5:47pm From: Irene

Definitely Berkeley! I guess I have a 'hippy'-folky soul and just enough liberalism in me that I wouldv'e felt right at home. It was a great time for music there too. Also, I love the Bay Area.
