Tue. 1/13/09 12:03pm From: SmokinJ

Wow! First j of the day:)

Tue. 1/13/09 12:03pm From: Cecile

g'day Joe!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:06pm From: HalfBreed

Are you Australian Cecile? hehe

Tue. 1/13/09 12:08pm From: Bad Ronald

Hey Joe, my radio now Belock'd to the Three Chord Monte. Take it away!!!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:09pm From: SmokinJ

Here we go! The Joe Experience...

Tue. 1/13/09 12:10pm From: Cecile

this Sloan song is the best "get off my damn lawn" song I've heard in a while.

No, halfie, but I lived down there for a year a long time ago.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:12pm From: rubble

nice one bad ronald!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:13pm From: bob loblaw

Love this song. Old Flaming Lips is so good...

Tue. 1/13/09 12:13pm From: HalfBreed

How wonderful! Just curious. With this weather I could tolerate the change of pace..That would fit the bill. But the bear & smoke is much cheaper here in the states..

Tue. 1/13/09 12:15pm From: dc pat

oh yeah, the FLips!!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:17pm From: bob loblaw

Too bad new Flaming Lips sucks.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:18pm From: dc pat

yeaaahh, afraid you're right bob...last time I saw 'em I yelled "BRING YER GUITARS NEXT TIME!!!"

Tue. 1/13/09 12:19pm From: Cecile

oh, lord. I saw that Fox movie a zillion years ago. It was about as, er, "good" as this song.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:20pm From: Cecile

what's the new Baltimore, then?

Tue. 1/13/09 12:21pm From: still b/p

Yeah, but remember the great 60s style cartoon credits that went with that song at the opening of the picture? Silly period credits like that...now that's a video compilation I'd watch.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:22pm From: dc pat

why Pittsburgh of course!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:23pm From: Rubble

After The Fox was fantastic... Sellers does some of his best and so much of the commentary holds up even today. Netflix it! And I do love the theme song, too. It's right up there with Lord Love A Duck!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:23pm From: Cecile

hee, I was going to say that.

Vaguely, and yeah, b/p, I'd pay for that.

Rubble, I might have to review it, it was a long time ago.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:24pm From: dc pat

WAIT a minute, what did he say about DC???

Tue. 1/13/09 12:28pm From: Mark Traeger / Tri-City Bicycles

you so rocked HACKETTSTOWN!!!!!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:29pm From: Cecile

we need that "youth and experience" song if you got it.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:30pm From: Joe B

Hey Mark! Long time no talk! Hopeall is well!

Hi everyone, thanks for checking in.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:30pm From: efd

good choice! I'm putting together a short list of "goodbye" songs for my Inauguration night show, may have to trot this one out again.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:30pm From: Joe B

Pat, I think the reference to DC is ... Brooklyn is to Manhattan as Baltimore is to DC, meaning it's close but not the real thing. I am guessing but it seemed a positive!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:31pm From: rubble

b/p, ther eis a fantastic box set of the pink panther cartoons. Bet you'd love it.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:31pm From: annie

it's gonna be a great week for music, again. the send-off of bush...

Tue. 1/13/09 12:31pm From: Joe B

EFD, can you find a way to fit Hoagiefest into the set?

Tue. 1/13/09 12:33pm From: Leon Trotsky

I remember when Nixon resigned (!) and the DJ on WNEW-FM played a set featuring The Beatles' *Fool on the Hill.* The song took on new meaning for me....

Tue. 1/13/09 12:33pm From: dc pat

Well....alright then...if that's what he was sayin'...

FLips: I was with them in all their incarnations until they started sounding like Supertramp.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:35pm From: fishmonkeystew

Hey, I have this CD. It's freakin' hilarious. Especially when I randomly send tracks from it to some of my more conservative co-workers.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:35pm From: GP

Joe, these GWB singers...yeah, that is just what I needed today...LOL

Tue. 1/13/09 12:36pm From: RZ

I would say go back and listen to supertramp to do a fair assessment but I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:36pm From: annie

i love this, it's just as funny as the capitol steps

Tue. 1/13/09 12:37pm From: ?

The "Na-na goodye"chorus is so in your face when used by sports fans and sundry gloaters, which is funny because the other lyrics are kinda high, lite, pleasant and ez flow.

Thanks for suggestion, rubble.

re credits -- I read years ago that film credit compilations that designers and fans would enjoy are pert
near impossible due to rights held too tightly.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:37pm From: dc pat

yeah, that'll happen RZ

Tue. 1/13/09 12:38pm From: still b/p

Still breathing, puzzled and inattentive to name entry.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:39pm From: Rubble

Dumbass was characteristiically up to speed yesterday with "misunderestimated'

Tue. 1/13/09 12:40pm From: Cecile

RZ:
dreamer! You know you are a dreamer!
You've got your head in the sand, oh no!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:40pm From: dc pat

whoa, he said that?? dang, what an idiot. I'm an idiot too but I'm not the President...

Tue. 1/13/09 12:41pm From: dc pat

AAAAHhh!! CUT it out Cecile!! That's why I started listening to punk rock!!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:42pm From: Cecile

bwaahhahahahahahahahahahahaha

Tue. 1/13/09 12:45pm From: still b/p

Tribute song: the Capitols could redo "Cool Jerk" as "Cool Smirk".

Tue. 1/13/09 12:47pm From: still b/p

Mo' better: "Fool Smirk."

Tue. 1/13/09 12:47pm From: annie

what fun!!!!

Tue. 1/13/09 12:48pm From: JJZ

Aw, I had the sound down low and wasn't paying much attention and I thought I was hearing Georgy Girl.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:48pm From: ted

George Bush LIed was written by ukulele player Carmaig de Forest. I dont know who is doing that version

Tue. 1/13/09 12:50pm From: ted

DeathGrooveLoveParty is Carmaig de Forest too..

Tue. 1/13/09 12:51pm From: annie

how do you spell annihilation?

Tue. 1/13/09 12:53pm From: still b/p

H-o-m-o s-a-p-i-e-n-s.

Tue. 1/13/09 12:55pm From: dc pat

Tue. 1/13/09 12:55pm From: annie

Tue. 1/13/09 12:58pm From: still b/p

Well, I wouldn't want to go second 's'-ing anybody.

Tue. 1/13/09 1:02pm From: Rubble

dc pat you're just brimming over with positivity today!

Tue. 1/13/09 1:06pm From: SmokinJ

Allen Oldies Band Rules!

Tue. 1/13/09 1:09pm From: Cecile

Can I hear music from Eegah?

Tue. 1/13/09 1:11pm From: Joe B

I don't think Steckler did Eegah did he? On this CD though so sure!

Tue. 1/13/09 1:13pm From: Cecile

no, he didn't go eegah, Hall's dad did.
When you said "Arch Hall film music" i just automatically thought of Eegah!

Tue. 1/13/09 1:21pm From: Cecile

THANKS!
*doing the twist, as I now have twist fever*

Tue. 1/13/09 1:24pm From: AnAnonymousParty

"Watch out for snakes!"

Tue. 1/13/09 1:33pm From: SmokinJ

Tue. 1/13/09 1:36pm From: Ismael

Tue. 1/13/09 1:37pm From: SmokinJ

You got that right Ismael!

Tue. 1/13/09 1:38pm From: Cecile

Tue. 1/13/09 2:01pm From: adam

thanks man. this set is turning around my afternoon.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:02pm From: tom807

Wonderful stuff. Go Ron.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:02pm From: Cecile

absolutely awesome.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:04pm From: adam

they made every other band on that festival look like total wankers.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:05pm From: dc pat

perfect.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:05pm From: The Gift

Ron loved everyone.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:05pm From: paulthepostman

I never fully appreciated how f***ing cool this band is...

Tue. 1/13/09 2:07pm From: Big Steven

Adam, except the Dictators and Dolls

Tue. 1/13/09 2:07pm From: Cecile

Fun House is so flipping amazing that it should be declared a national monument.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:07pm From: SmokinJ

Joe, you are kickin' ass!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:08pm From: Cecile

I saw the Dolls this past year, first time, and it was one of my top 5 shows easy.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:10pm From: Cecile

I want a $4 seat!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:10pm From: tom807

You're killing me Mr. TCM. Thank you.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:10pm From: SmokinJ

Christ! I think I'm gonna' faint!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:11pm From: adam

Big Steve, you are right...those three bands were incredible that night. the Dolls reunion was very emotional and intense. But Iggy going on after the Strokes drunken trust-fund "rock" was night and day. I remember Iggy pulling down the dunkin donuts memorbilia and humping the track-mounted camera.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:14pm From: crankshaft

some people get saved on sundays.....my salvation is this big ol' radio on tuesdays from 12-3:00!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:16pm From: Cecile

you know I dig some rockers who are well adjusted people. But I also dig rockers whose only choices in life are rock, death or jail. I think Iggy falls in the latter category.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:18pm From: Garth

I absolutely agree re: the Strokes at Randal's Island. That singer is pure douche.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:18pm From: dc pat

well put Cecile. Those folks make our religion strong.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:19pm From: SmokinJ

I agree. That's pathetic. I'll stick with rock/smoke/beer :)

Tue. 1/13/09 2:19pm From: Cynthia

I think Iggy is more well adjusted/well rounded than we might think.... just very uninhibited (still)!! But whatever it is ... it works!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:21pm From: Cecile

I think he is, too, cynthia, these days. He's also very erudite in his way. But man, he can cut loose when it's neccessary!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:21pm From: Doug from DC

James Osterburg is well-adjusted. Iggy is a wild man.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:22pm From: Cecile

thank you Doug in DC! you hit the nail on the head.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:23pm From: Cynthia

Yes, he is indeed a great performer.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:24pm From: SmokinJ

Fuckin' A Joe knows how to scratch that itch!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:25pm From: dc pat

..but I think it's time for him to put a shirt on, that's just me though.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:31pm From: Das_Idiot

We're smokin' our brains out here and it's Joe Belock's fault!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:36pm From: C

there was a show on cnn a few weeks back where iggy did a tour of "his miami". i'm not sure if anyone else saw it, but if you cut away some of the corny production, it's a pretty interesting look at the city and the man.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:38pm From: ?

Oh no way, the shirt remains off!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:43pm From: dc pat

yeah I guess it wouldn't be right if he was dressed. Never mind.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:54pm From: Sean Daily

Probably one of the last comments! Woo hoo!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:58pm From: steev

peeeeeeeeeanut butter!!! countless uses!

Tue. 1/13/09 2:58pm From: ~L

Peanut butter works well in mouse traps too, sorry I know that.

Tue. 1/13/09 2:59pm From: steev

not as good as Nutella though.

Tue. 1/13/09 3:02pm From: Rubble

Super show Joe!

Tue. 1/13/09 3:09pm From: steev
