Listener comments!

  12:04pm
Carmichael:

First comment?!? Whoa ....
  12:05pm
gerardo:

¡¡¡feliz año nuevo, liz!!!

glad to be back listening to 'fmu live again :D
  12:05pm
zoot:

Golly gosh, Osdemir Erdogen sure sounds like Richard Thompson to me.....
  12:06pm
jorge:

Hurrah Liz ! .
  12:06pm
Carmichael:

Zoot!! I was thinking the exact same thing. I just saw him, and the sound of his voice was fresh in my mind.
  12:11pm
jorge:

Yeah the new juggler sound is in da house lol, it will be nice to go back to peru actually
  12:16pm
jon:

Starting off real good, Liz. Thanks!
  12:17pm
gerardo:

¿cuándo vuelves a perú, jorge?
  12:19pm
jorge:

Por ahora estoy disfrutando de Barcelona Gerardo que no está nada mal, pero este año toca pasar navidad con la familia así que pa ya vamos.
  12:21pm
Liz B.:

Hi everybody, thanks for the tip on New Juggler Sound last week, Jorge!
  12:23pm
gerardo:

¡me parece muy bien! - volver a vivir una navidad con harto sol y calor

un abrazo, hno.

(a todo esto, qué es lo que más te ha impresionado de bcn, hasta el momento?)
  12:24pm
jorge:

glad you like them liz, hey please please please keep me update on that primavera thing, there are some rumours that are killing me,
  12:26pm
jorge:

  12:35pm
jorge:

oh thank YOU liz for the awesome music of today...as always.
  12:36pm
Liz B.:

No news on primavera, keeping my fingers crossed!
  12:37pm
gerardo:

"la crisis de la industria musical", jeje

aquí hay amigos míos que todavía la compran por el cd que trae, con los religiosos 6 meses de atraso ;)

baron in the trees sounds great, liz

(btw, what's the "20° tour" you mentioned?)
  12:38pm
jorge:

it really seems that they will have the feelies playing here which is AWESOME!
  12:58pm
Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!
  1:00pm
Cecile:

First comment after Sean Daily! Woo hoo!
  1:01pm
Carmichael:

Liz, I am thoroughly mellowed. Quite a change from the first set. And that's good.
  1:02pm
gerardo:

Hi, Sean and Cecile, "first commentators"!

talking about "sonido eshpañol", liz (here's 30°C)
  1:05pm
Liz B.:

Wow, it's 30 degrees here, too (Farenheit, though... wish it was Celsius!)
  1:07pm
Carmichael:

Hey, what's my "first comment? Chopped liver??
  1:09pm
Cecile:

we were in quotes.
that means we aren't legit.
  1:13pm
gerardo:

oh my!, that means winter here will be tough (brrr...)

no hurt feelings, carmichael - it seems sean and cecile were competing themselves ;) (nice reading you again, cecile)

animal collective played here in stgo. last november... i was @ work at that time...
  1:15pm
still b/p:

Everybody knows it's craaazy bad luck to be first commenter when Turkish music's playin', Carm. Someone else'll have to tell you how to reverse the curse. Watch out for big dropping icicles and surly dogs and poor counter service today.
  1:16pm
north guinea hills:

ahhh, the new villalobos, i've been waiting to hear this. thanks, liz!
  1:19pm
Carmichael:

No problemo, Gerardo. I was just joking, in a kind of Hebrew way.

b/p, we are immune from icicles out here in sunny California, but the roaming curs and sullen youth in the service sector are always issues.

Perhaps a quart of Raki could help lift the curse? Something about fighting spirits with spirits.
  1:19pm
Liz B.:

The 20 degree tour is hiking through NYC in cold weather! Lots of museums!
  1:20pm
philthy:

Very cool sounds
  1:21pm
dc pat:

Sooo, the Inaugural Luncheon will include something called A Brace of American Birds (pheasant and duck). First, what's a "brace"? Is that like a pile? And, since when did pheasant become indigenous? This isn't the kind of change I was expecting...
  1:22pm
Cecile:

a brace is a pair.
wild pheasant is indigenous now the way mustangs are.

and mmmmmm. birds. nom nom nom.
  1:24pm
gerardo:

thanx, liz - i imagined it meant sth like that ;)

this villalobos track reminds me of matías aguayo's "minimal" you played last year... and they are both chilean, lol
  1:25pm
annie:

i would venture to say they are likely indigenous to the corral in which they were raised. and that's the extent of their wildness. there are "wild pheasant "farms around here..
  1:25pm
dc pat:

Ah, I don't agree Cecile, pheasants are an invasive species that needs to be stamped out. All they do is scare the bejeezus out of little kids walking through corn fields. And if brace=pair, why didn't they just asy "pair." I guess it's like pork=dead pig, beef=dead cow, etc.
  1:27pm
Cecile:

I will be happy to stomp them out.
Stomp them out with roast potatoes and a nice currant jelly alongside.
  1:28pm
Carmichael:

And a nice Chianti.
  1:28pm
dc pat:

Pres. Obama will be having them with sour cherry chutney...and loads of wine apparently.
  1:29pm
Cecile:

I'd actually go with a nice Cab or something. LOL. Maybe if I made a pheasant ragu, though. mmmm.
  1:30pm
dc pat:

pino noir is the menu choice...
  1:31pm
gerardo:

Cool, Carmichael

I guess reading Saul Bellow's stuff and watching Woody Allen's movies is not enough to approach Hebrew humor in its entirety
  1:31pm
Cecile:

that would be good.
I am not the biggest wine person, but I know that Chianti is a little light for game w/o tomatoes
  1:32pm
Carmichael:

My Hannibal Lechter needs some work.
  1:33pm
Cecile:

it's fine - I just got all pedantic and wine-lawyery
  1:34pm
GP:

Hello Liz and everyone, my audio is intermittent today (problem is on my end, not FMU), so just saying hi. Hope you had a good new year and Chinese New Year is coming up in case you missed the other one!
  1:37pm
dc pat:

puffy areolas has to be the #1 dumbest name I've heard.
  1:38pm
annie:

hi gp. i am remembering you would like some music sent your way.... soon, my friend.. soon.
  1:39pm
gerardo:

hi, gp

thanx for the recommendation - i guess i'll celebrate every forthcoming New Year's eve this 2009
  1:41pm
?:

Your Hannibal was fine, Carm. You're just off today. Eat something.

BTW - Cold impalements in friendly climes no prob for on-duty Cali dark-siders, bro -- Matt Demon, Ed McMayhem, Doom Deluise. They're out there...workin' it. Add they check the comments.
  1:44pm
gerardo:

you' doin' fine, Carmichael ;)
  1:48pm
gerardo:

listening to nosotrash remembers me of that rockdelux reading era, liz
  1:50pm
GP:

Thanks Annie...no hurry at all. I'll get your email later, maybe next week on Liz's show. Our internet connection is VERY flaky today.
  2:06pm
annie:

word, gp....my email will always be there..
  2:06pm
Hooty Sapperticker:

GP, my internet connection is like my Aunt Esther's pie crust today. I wonder what gives.
  2:07pm
annie:

actually, gp, if you are in touch with bad ronald, he has it, too..
  2:08pm
gerardo:

i feel as a little kid again, listening to "soooon of my father"
  2:10pm
annie:

liz, sorry for not mentioning earlier. the music's been great and this rocks..
  2:12pm
dc pat:

WAAAAIIIT a second...I'm suddenly in 4th grade and my brother and his friends are listening to an 8 track tape...
  2:13pm
GP:

10-4 Annie..
Ahhh.nothing like Copland on the Moog.
  2:13pm
Vicki:

this is sounding like my show at the moment :)
  2:13pm
gerardo:

  2:14pm
tombom:

  2:17pm
gerardo:

  2:17pm

  2:18pm

  2:23pm
gerardo:

  2:27pm
Dex:

Please play Motorhead!!!! we need some more of that sugar.....
  2:32pm
philthy:

Fall = good call
  2:41pm
bw:

you!!!!! I am not that old

heh
  2:42pm
Liz B.:

Sorry Ben, couldn't help myself!!! Happy birthday!
  2:50pm
Cecile:

ELP is not for me.
Although, I do like Opeth and their frontman pretty much cribs from Greg Lake
  3:01pm
north guinea hills:

my ex stole my joe beats experiment cd.... waaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!
  9:53am
sebastian:

hey. what's this? someone stole my "nosy alienated chilean thinking he's in NY because of fmu". will have to do something about it.
