Scott, This is a wonderful song.

Thu. 12/11/08 12:06pm From: Andy

Good Afternoon from St. Margaret's Bay in Nova Scotia! I think that the artist's name is Bahar- not the track's name. He sounds like the Turkish James Blood Ulmer.

Thu. 12/11/08 12:10pm From: PMD

Hi Scott! Where's the beer?

Thu. 12/11/08 12:12pm From: dc pat

yes, bring back the beer

Thu. 12/11/08 12:12pm From: postmanpaul

Thu. 12/11/08 12:14pm From: PMD

Thu. 12/11/08 12:18pm From: dc pat

I wish I had a program that would insert random pops and crackles into all my mp3's.

Thu. 12/11/08 12:19pm From: Jim Fowler

I know how to Heimlich a gibbon.

Thu. 12/11/08 12:19pm From: kent goldings

Thu. 12/11/08 12:23pm From: Cecile

Thu. 12/11/08 12:28pm From: kent goldings

Thu. 12/11/08 12:29pm From: JEff m

nice dreambaby dream cover. Been hearing peeps talk about it. nice to finally hear it. Have to say the song is very Brucish.

Thu. 12/11/08 12:29pm From: Ike

I have to agree that the Hayvanlar Alemi track was supreme.

Thu. 12/11/08 12:30pm From: Cecile

I will be the dissenting opinion here in the form of a lolcat:
"Suicide: Ur doing it rong"

Thu. 12/11/08 12:31pm From: postmanpaul

Talking of building dust infiltrating ones CD/DVD portal on ones personal computer and buggering 'bout with hairy off-the-radar audio receptoroids...
I think I have I have that pop'ncrakle program installed.

Thu. 12/11/08 12:34pm From: cosmic

Thu. 12/11/08 12:35pm From: born in the you-ess-a

i hope suicide gets some good $$$ from this guy doing their stuff

Thu. 12/11/08 12:37pm From: maverick

wow, john mccain's lost album! i never knew...

Thu. 12/11/08 12:37pm From: postmanpaul

Hi cosmic - How's tricks there?
I'm pleased to hear that your headphones have finally caught up with you!

Thu. 12/11/08 12:38pm From: Jeff M

Well, in some ways i agree with you Cecile. It's certainly nothing like from Ghostriders and I can think of many better cover versions of Suicide songs, but it's still pretty decent and sort of channels Suicide in a more romantic and nostalgic way that fits in with the Bruce cosmology. Don't want to get too long here.

Thu. 12/11/08 12:39pm From: fishmonkeystew

Hey, I recognize those sampled bits! Alone in the wilderness with Dick Proenneke.

Thu. 12/11/08 12:52pm From: postmanpaul

This is reminding me of root canal treatment.

Thu. 12/11/08 12:54pm From: annie

reading playlist, watching comments, listening to random youtube selections from vaste fmu hurried notes.

Thu. 12/11/08 1:02pm From: Sean Daily

Thu. 12/11/08 1:15pm From: Scott

Thu. 12/11/08 1:23pm From: Cecile

this is a really cool song man ( plastic palace .. )

Thu. 12/11/08 2:09pm From: dc pat

I just had to do a quick search on Rory Storm to see if he was still around...different one I guess.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:10pm From: Scott

Rory Storm? You mean the one that put his head in the oven? No, that one's long gone. This is a diff one, from NZ.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:11pm From: dc pat

the one Ringo played drums for. Upon being asked why he didn't attend his funeral, Ringo said: "I wasn't there when he [Storm] was born either."

Thu. 12/11/08 2:13pm From: dc pat

actually wkipedia says something about sleeping pills or chest infection..

Thu. 12/11/08 2:15pm From: Scott

you mean that story about him & his mum with the suicide pact in the kitchen is all apocryphal?! Well cancel my damn subscription to the death rock tribune

Thu. 12/11/08 2:16pm From: Cecile

The George Jones sings Hank gets short shrift in some circles. I think it's pretty great.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:17pm From: Cecile

record, I meant to put in there.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:20pm From: Scott

That's why I don't live in circles. Plus being square.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:21pm From: Ringo

Peace, love, I'm a putz. Peace.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:24pm From: Cecile

I think of you as more trapezoidal, Scott.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:24pm From: begger

yay!

Thu. 12/11/08 2:26pm From: dc pat

it's funny how everyone has moved on from Deerhoof to Deerhunter

Thu. 12/11/08 2:28pm From: Cecile

I wish they sounded more like the movie.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:28pm From: Scott

Yo dc pat, sometimes it's just all about the segue.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:28pm From: yay

remember deerfucker? 80's hardcore band outta dc.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:29pm From: deerfucker

just kidding

Thu. 12/11/08 2:31pm From: Ike

That's one of the most overrated, overblown, clumsy, heavy-handed movies ever made. The band is better. Although I prefer their previous album. I like noise. "Microcastle" is too full o' hippie-folk.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:31pm From: detroitdave

deerfucker huh....................are you really SD?

Thu. 12/11/08 2:33pm From: Cecile

No, sorry, misunderstanding - they just didn't think George did such a great job on that record. They like how George sings Hank, just not how that record turned out. I like the record.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:33pm From: dc pat

that's what I was thinkin'

Thu. 12/11/08 2:34pm From: GP

CURSE you Wikipedia! another childhood belief ripped to shreds.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:34pm From: Cecile

Ike, I think I'm mostly thinking about Christopher Walken's unhinged performance in the movie.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:36pm From: Sean Daily

Four minutes to beeeeeeeer... Or at least four minutes to what should be beeeeeeeer...

Thu. 12/11/08 2:37pm From: detroitdave

SD you get to drink beer at 2:40?

Thu. 12/11/08 2:38pm From: Jeff M

Who originally wrote Witchita Lineman? All i have is covers.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:38pm From: Cecile

Jimmy Webb

Thu. 12/11/08 2:39pm From: ?

ahh thanks sir. Written down.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:40pm From: jeff m

Whoops no name

Thu. 12/11/08 2:40pm From: Cecile

I'm not a sir, but you are very welcome!

Thu. 12/11/08 2:41pm From: dc pat

I was gonna say, you mean ma'am!

Thu. 12/11/08 2:43pm From: SJ

This Wicked Witch is great.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:44pm From: detroitdave

Yeah....more like this!!

Thu. 12/11/08 2:44pm From: bzul

I once heard Jimmy Webb confess his unease about a songwriting "cheat" in Wichita Lineman - an imperfect rhyme: "time" with "line".
Goodgoshamighty, Jimmy, it's fine.

Thu. 12/11/08 2:46pm From: dc pat

Thu. 12/11/08 2:51pm From: Jeff M

Ahh apologies Cecile. i rarely post so i don't know who every one is

Thu. 12/11/08 2:54pm From: Cecile

that's ok.

Oh, great, my favorite 50s teen snuff record!
