thanks for the Pierced Arrows play, King Khan/Shrines too. My band Rise Up Howling Werewolf (www.myspace.com/riseuphowlingwerewolf) played with him and BBQ Show about two weeks ago in Birmingham, AL.

Nah, great guy. He and the Shrines came to Huntsville this past summer. Great show. I'm from Muscle Shoals, AL, so I'm really digging the horns on the record, but the live show is definitely where it's at. It was great.

To all people that post on playlists... do you listen online, making it easier to access the play lists, or do you listen on the radio?
|
Tue. 12/2/08 1:06pm
Cecile:
I can't listen to the radio, I'm about 1200 miles away.

Joe B:
Cecile - Two CDs are on Collectibles, which is usually a reissue label. One is on Dionysus but I've seen in every bargain bin in the country. So maybe someone is selling cheap on amazon or something.

There's also a post-Smitreski CD on Get Hip (from 2002 or 03?) that has Brother JT returning to the lineup (he's on the debut - Standing at the Gates of Time as well.

Kyle, Listening at work. Streaming for Windows is the only feed I can get past our IT police. I also live too far away to get a signal...deep in the South...ya'll.

Tue. 12/2/08 1:55pm
JD:
Where are you from GP? | |
|
Tue. 12/2/08 1:57pm

Deep in the heart o' Texas. I guess that is actually more southwesterly.

JD:
Excellent, I'm a southerner myself from Alabama. Also out of WFMU's signal reach.

Listening at work online from 300 miles away. Route of discovery: about 2 years ago a Beware of the Blog entry came up in a search for info on The Real Tuesday Weld's Bathtime in Clerkenwell. At home over the weekend, I ran a line from computer through stereo -- first time for FMU in my living room. Will repeat this therapy as necessary.

Tue. 12/2/08 2:36pm
Bad Ronald:
That's a good suggestion GP. Not me on ebay. After I found it I googled it out of curiosity and that's what came up.

A very nice tribute to the Zenmaster Mike Smitreski. I worked with Mike for over ten years here at Lehigh University and was with him when he passed from this world. I’m sure if he has an Internet connection wherever he is now, he was listening to the live stream. We will never forget him. He will live on in our harts. Rest in peace my friend. Thanks Joe…

Sandra McCarthy:
Joe, Thanks for the nice tribute to Mike. I was a collaborator on Mike's "Shadestream" solo project. We had a hard time getting any work done, because we were so busy laughing. What a great memory to hold on to. Mike was a kind and loyal friend and I know the Cryptic Zen Master is smiling from the celestial sky.
