Tue. 12/2/08 12:23pm From: Rubble

Tue. 12/2/08 12:24pm From: Joe B

Not yet Rubble. I'm holding out hope!

Tue. 12/2/08 12:24pm From: jd

thanks for the Pierced Arrows play, King Khan/Shrines too. My band Rise Up Howling Werewolf (www.myspace.com/riseuphowlingwerewolf) played with him and BBQ Show about two weeks ago in Birmingham, AL.

Tue. 12/2/08 12:26pm From: Carmichael

JD, I really like King Khan. He may be insane.

Tue. 12/2/08 12:30pm From: jd

Nah, great guy. He and the Shrines came to Huntsville this past summer. Great show. I'm from Muscle Shoals, AL, so I'm really digging the horns on the record, but the live show is definitely where it's at. It was great.

Tue. 12/2/08 12:32pm From: Rubble

tributes are celebrations....these people gave us music that makes us smile. Tribs are a good thing. :)

Tue. 12/2/08 1:02pm From: Rubble

I agree...It is not a bad trend at all.. unfortunately I think it might be over. 8)

Tue. 12/2/08 1:04pm From: Kyle

WFMU is what I'm tuned to

Tue. 12/2/08 1:05pm From: Kyle

To all people that post on playlists... do you listen online, making it easier to access the play lists, or do you listen on the radio?

Tue. 12/2/08 1:06pm From: Cecile

I can't listen to the radio, I'm about 1200 miles away.

Tue. 12/2/08 1:07pm From: JD

I'm actually listening on iTunes and watching the playlist here.

Tue. 12/2/08 1:07pm From: annie

i listen on-line for both perks

Tue. 12/2/08 1:14pm From: Cecile

I'm digging this Golden Dawn stuff - is it relatively easy to find?

Tue. 12/2/08 1:15pm From: Joe B

Cecile - Two CDs are on Collectibles, which is usually a reissue label. One is on Dionysus but I've seen in every bargain bin in the country. So maybe someone is selling cheap on amazon or something.

Tue. 12/2/08 1:17pm From: Ilde Rich

vocalist mark smith is always ripping new cdr's of the collectables stuff

Tue. 12/2/08 1:18pm From: Cecile

thanks!
This guy totally kicks that Hold Steady guy's ass in the snotty, sharp singer department.

thanks, Rich!

Tue. 12/2/08 1:21pm From: Joe B

There's also a post-Smitreski CD on Get Hip (from 2002 or 03?) that has Brother JT returning to the lineup (he's on the debut - Standing at the Gates of Time as well.

Tue. 12/2/08 1:23pm From: Cecile

never knew JT was in that band!

Tue. 12/2/08 1:26pm From: Idle Rich

yep, three of the sins spwaned from the creatures... on the 7" i have, it looks like jt's hiding behind the price tag

Tue. 12/2/08 1:28pm From: Rubble

Kyle.. when listening at work, I listen online. when at home, I listen on the radio, even if I am following the playlist.

Tue. 12/2/08 1:46pm From: annie

i literally dropped what i was doing and heard this voice.. this golden voice... i have to stop work now.. listen to this voice.. aaaahhhhh

Tue. 12/2/08 1:46pm From: Kyle

Thank you for your answers.

Tue. 12/2/08 1:53pm From: GP

Kyle,
Listening at work. Streaming for Windows is the only feed I can get past our IT police. I also live too far away to get a signal...deep in the South...ya'll.

Tue. 12/2/08 1:55pm From: JD

Where are you from GP?

Tue. 12/2/08 1:57pm From: GP

Deep in the heart o' Texas. I guess that is actually more southwesterly.

Tue. 12/2/08 1:59pm From: JD

Excellent, I'm a southerner myself from Alabama. Also out of WFMU's signal reach.

Tue. 12/2/08 2:03pm From: bzul

Listening at work online from 300 miles away.
Route of discovery: about 2 years ago a Beware of the Blog entry came up in a search for info on The Real Tuesday Weld's Bathtime in Clerkenwell.

At home over the weekend, I ran a line from computer through stereo -- first time for FMU in my living room. Will repeat this therapy as necessary.

Tue. 12/2/08 2:07pm From: ?

I live in Manhattan, I can't tune it in there. I stream from where eva!

Tue. 12/2/08 2:09pm From: Bad Ronald

I know, hopefully the new booster antenna will remedy that!

Tue. 12/2/08 2:10pm From: Joe B

The return of Bad Ronald!

Tue. 12/2/08 2:12pm From: Bad Ronald

Tue. 12/2/08 2:31pm From: GP

Joe,
Great Brimstone song...
Bad Ron. is that you selling that on Ebay..or you found one just like it? Maybe your band can cover the album!

Tue. 12/2/08 2:36pm From: Bad Ronald

That's a good suggestion GP.

Not me on ebay. After I found it I googled it out of curiosity and that's what came up.

Tue. 12/2/08 2:37pm From: David Shortell

Wasn't Bob Brainen in the Breetles, as well?

Tue. 12/2/08 2:39pm From: Joe B

David, he is on this disc. Credited with acoustic guitar, bass, vocals

Good show Joe!

Tue. 12/2/08 4:35pm From: Al

A very nice tribute to the Zenmaster Mike Smitreski. I worked with Mike for over ten years here at Lehigh University and was with him when he passed from this world. I’m sure if he has an Internet connection wherever he is now, he was listening to the live stream. We will never forget him. He will live on in our harts. Rest in peace my friend. Thanks Joe…

Tue. 12/2/08 5:01pm From: Sandra McCarthy

Joe, Thanks for the nice tribute to Mike. I was a collaborator on Mike's "Shadestream" solo project. We had a hard time getting any work done, because we were so busy laughing. What a great memory to hold on to.

Mike was a kind and loyal friend and I know the Cryptic Zen Master is smiling from the celestial sky.

Wed. 12/3/08 8:38pm From: ?

THANKS FOR THE GREAT SHOW!!!
BOB
