As a fan of Afro-Cuban and the early 70s Fania records sound, your amazing show on West African 70s pop music has opened my musical mind to a new genre. Thanks a bunch!

I just discovered this podcast a few days ago, but I'm loving every minute of it. Thanks so much for putting this together.

Hi Frank, do you have any more William Onyeabor songs or know where any of his music is available to buy? I found a rip the atomic bomb lp and I bought two mp3s from amazon (the only two by him they had), but his stuff seems really hard to find. I've only heard a handful of his songs, but I love what I've heard and am dying for more. I love the show and look forward to it all week.

Hey Brian,
I guess you already found all that's available by online or in stores. I have a few more of his records and might play some more stuff by him on future shows. The LP Crashes Of Love from which "something you will never forget" is from actually exists in two versions: One that is recorded with a full band (that's where the track I played on the show is from) and then William O. recorded the whole thing again with all moogs, organs and drum machines resulting in a simular feel as his "Atomic Bomb" LP. I don't like the "electronic" version too much that's why I sold both copies that I had. The LP I kept seems to be even rarer as the other one and both covers look very much alike.

hello frank, i always followed your journeys but never came here before. Excellent radioshow! i have a question about those two releases of WO "crashes". The one you played is this one from 1977 and the other one from a later date? As Atomic bomb is from 1978 there can't be much time between these. looking forward to any information.

Hi Coco.
I don't have a copy left of the "electronic" version of crashes in love.
The one that I played on the radio show was pressed in 1977 according to the information on the label. The "electronic" version comes in a cover with a slightly darker blue background and with less text in the lower banner.
