athis question is for despot: why have you taken it upon yourself to denounce magic? is there a historical reason for this? did something happen to you in childhood to make you not like magic?

Thu. 11/6/08 3:02am From: dustin

do you believe in energy? if so, sorcery could be figuring out how to use, magnify, and funnel that energy for specific purposes. in that case, it would not be surpassing nature, it would just be somebody performing actions that are working with nature.

is that magic?

Thu. 11/6/08 3:08am From: makena

hypothetical situation: an alien comes to earth with technology vastly more complex than ours. because we cannot understand it, we would call the technology and its effects as "magic" but to the aliens it is normative and not magic.
