Hi Bethany!
In my "Music of the 20th Century" class there were two retiree women who sat in front of me in class. They seemed to hate any modern music past Debussy. My professor played a recording of the Webern "Variations Op. 30" Robert Craft cond. Their reaction was a combination of head turning , giggling, and nasty comments. I loved it and their reaction to it. As I recall, many of the young students (listening to Webern for credit,ha,ha) frequently skipped classes, but those two women did not miss a single week!
Screw the opus nummers, you rock Bethany!!!

Bolcom is blowing my mind!!!

Sun. 9/7/08 10:52pm From: lipwak

I was thinking Allan Toussaint/Elvis Costello - Ascension Day (Professor Longhair)/Prairie Home CompanIon but there are surely better comparisons if I thought about it.

Loving the show!

Cheers,

John L

Speaking personally, I did in fact enjoy the Bolcom nearly as much as you did.
