I gotta disagree with that...but what about you, out there, what do you think?

Worked for me, and the transition to the next track was nice.

has anyone heard of parts and labor, that last song with the therimin sounded exactly like one of their songs

the man behind that track, dan friel, is a member of Parts & Labor...good ears.

The Glass didn't do much for me, could someone who was paying more attention speculate on the smilarity in the title to a set of pieces by Satie, which I'd translate Three Pieces In The Shape of a Pear?
Loved the Isan, though.

the show is great so far, but if I don't go out to the store and my cat gets only dry food tonight there will be serious trouble

Satie was a big influence on none other than Frank Zappa. The version I grew up listening to is by Aldo Ciccolini on EMI. Great show!

what does "stochastic" mean?
Sun. 7/13/08 11:48pm
From:
dave
a stochastic process is one which is random, or nondeterministic.

The show title "Stochastic Hit Parade" is a tip of the hat to free form radio (as in random) and to composers like Xenakis who created stochastic music using computer algorithms.

This Phil Glass piece is from a time when Glass still was innovative! Monsieur Bayle's Eros Bleu is part of a master work in electroacoustic music: Erosphere. It's about the attraction of sounds.
