Mon. 6/30/08 12:27pm From: gerardo

hola, liz, hola a todos!

back in 'fmu playlist after a broken hearted period, ready to enjoy today's show

feliz inicio de semana, liz! (winter holidays here are approaching, so soon i'll be sending you a load of material i've been collecting for you since last December!)

Mon. 6/30/08 12:32pm From: Doctor B.

I've been a cat person since I was 5. I just heard about your kitty. I hope she gets better soon.

As for the Sonic Youth concert, I was one of those who tried to snag a pair of tickets unsuccessfully. I hope that you're simulcasting and archiving the concert!

Mon. 6/30/08 12:33pm From: Liz B.

Hi everyone! Hope your broken heart is healing, Gerardo.

Mon. 6/30/08 12:39pm From: Sean Daily

This Snake and Jet song is amazing, Liz.

Mon. 6/30/08 12:40pm From: Liz B.

Sean, the whole album is fantastic!

Mon. 6/30/08 12:42pm From: gerardo

graacias, liz :) - you're very kind and nice

btw, did u like the article @ signal and noise?

Mon. 6/30/08 12:44pm From: Liz B.

Loved the article in Signal to Noise, Jesse (the author) did a great job capturing the essence of WFMU.

Mon. 6/30/08 12:47pm From: bwalker

Liz
I was rocking out to you on my bike - streaming the show via phone - I know you aren't supposed to listen to tunes on the bike - but well I make an exception for you - and now I am back safe in my CUBE!

Mon. 6/30/08 12:49pm From: Liz B.

Word up to the cube crew!

Mon. 6/30/08 12:53pm From: gerardo

i quite agree: the article feels like watching a documentary, moving backwards and forwards in time, catching the thread of "freeformality" - and the pictures are great: that records' shelves look so enticing, and you and the guys look like a rock band yourselves!

(thanx for correcting my mistakes!)

Mon. 6/30/08 12:53pm From: Hi

Mon. 6/30/08 1:30pm From: Doctor B.

If no one else has said it, please allow me to be the first:

Your show today rocks out in a very, very serious way!

Mon. 6/30/08 1:31pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

...but not TOO serious...

Mon. 6/30/08 1:33pm From: gerardo

Mon. 6/30/08 1:34pm From: Liz B.

Thanks, Dr. B, for the compliment and the kitty sympathy! Yes, Gerardo, I believe Los Fancy Free will be stateside next week.

Mon. 6/30/08 1:39pm From: The show has been ok, in my opinion

Drew

Mon. 6/30/08 1:46pm From: Laurie

I love Sonic Youth, but shouldn't The Feelies be headlining??

Mon. 6/30/08 1:50pm From: dc pat

I for one don't think so...

Mon. 6/30/08 1:54pm From: Liz B.

Hi Carlos! I sent you an e-mail last week, guess you didn't get it? Oh well, I'll try again, maybe you guys can play on WFMU!

Mon. 6/30/08 2:04pm From: gerardo

(I had a friend at the university who looked like Nina Hagen... - 14 years later, i found her again... thru facebook!)

Mon. 6/30/08 2:05pm From: yura

tnx for nina hagen!!!
greetings from Croatia!

Mon. 6/30/08 2:05pm From: carlos icaza

oh....i didn´t get your email. but yeah! will be awesome to play there..
let´s do it! i also wrote to matt finewine to see if we can do something together but maybe my email is failing, if you see him, let him know i am looking for him! we will be playing wednesday 9th at glasslands gallery in williamsburg, 10th at bowery ballroom at Latin alternative music conference and 11th at an all ages space called magicland in williamsburg again.

Mon. 6/30/08 2:06pm From: listener greg

I love nina hagen. her show at the Ritz (around 200 years ago I think) was one of the best.

Mon. 6/30/08 2:09pm From: Liz B.

I lost my voice a few years ago, and my croaking sounded much like Nina Hagen.

Mon. 6/30/08 2:09pm From: listener steph

do you have the new sic alps release on siltbreeze?

Mon. 6/30/08 2:14pm From: aaron

psychedlic horseshit is from columbus!!!

Mon. 6/30/08 2:27pm From: gerardo

wow, liz, how come you lost your voice? (did you feel like imitating her at that time?)

Mon. 6/30/08 2:29pm From: Liz B.

I lost my voice from breathing in massive amounts of dust at the WFMU Record Fair. And yes, my coworkers will attest to the fact that I talked with a Nina Hagen accent as much as possible!

Mon. 6/30/08 2:32pm From: aaron

i just found this station lastnight!!! love it and keep up the good work liz!!!

Mon. 6/30/08 2:33pm From: marty

it's liz b. & wfmu on my car radio in portland freaking oregon.... via a friends phone, holy shit!!! now all i need is an ghetto ice cream truck and a real bodega.

Mon. 6/30/08 2:33pm From: patrick

I was so happy my local ice cream truck had found a new song, until I realized...*sigh*

Mon. 6/30/08 2:38pm From: Parq

The thought of Liz busting out a German accent brings to mind the Jennifer Coolidge character from "A Mighty Wind".

Mon. 6/30/08 2:45pm From: gerardo

you read my mind, liz!, i was just writing about my wanting to listen to that impresonation, lol

(btw, are the records you sell at the fair that old or dusty?...)

Mon. 6/30/08 2:49pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

how can this possibly be Bill Cosby??

Mon. 6/30/08 2:52pm From: Liz B.

Many of the records at the fair are old and dusty, which isn't a big deal, but I was sitting in a room full of 'em for 3 days straight, so I think overexposure is what did it! Oh yes, this is surely Bill Cosby, his alias was Badfoot Brown.

Mon. 6/30/08 2:54pm From: cbk

hi liz...first time here...love your show...

Mon. 6/30/08 2:56pm From: Liz B.

Welcome, new folks, WFMU will be sending your fruit basket soon.

Mon. 6/30/08 2:58pm From: gerardo

you're right, dusty vinyls are no big deal -i'm surrounded by a hundred of them, that's why i asked -

i wonder why no cartoon has ever used them as a weapon of choice...

Mon. 6/30/08 3:00pm From: neeks

great show

Mon. 6/30/08 3:25pm From: Ike

Oh wow, Andy Waltzer is back!

Tue. 8/12/08 9:06pm From: maya

A great discovery:)
