don't worry, i am not a druggie! that Thera Flu and Extra Srength Tylenol are like the only store-bought drugs i keep in the house -- everything else pretty much sucks because it does not work and/or has horrific side-effects . . .
so yeah stick with voodoo, Santeria, herbal, etc. etc. etc. . . .

Good show! This Toumani Diabate track is beautiful.
So, if someone says they want to hire me, but that they need to get their HR Dept. to approve it, and then I don't hear back from them and can't get in touch, should I still show up for work? I guess I'll give it a shot... T minus 6 hours and counting until I show up there!

Ike, i would DEFINITELY show up -- at the very least, *YOU* are the one who is being RESPONSIBLE -- even if the employer is NOT behaving in an appropriate manner . . .
i have had similar stuff happen to me -- this manager was all set to hire me for one location, i did the drug screen thing and they did a credit check on me . . . and then i heard NOTHING -- fearing the worst -- like horrific credit reports and/or some weirdness with the drug screening -- i finally called the manager -- he told me that nothing bad had happened, he just had "not had the time" to call me -- UGH! as i hung up the telephone, i wondered, did i *really* want to work for someone who was so disorganized???)
i sure hope this job is well worth all the STRESS!!!!!!!!! (yeah, i have been looking for another/better job too)
time to make the coffee . . . !!!

Well, the pay isn't great, but it's a job. And it didn't stress me out until today. In this case, the guy may have gone on vacation just after offering the job and up through today, but if so, he should've put me in touch with HR or his own boss or something.
But hey, if they throw me out, I'll call up Scott in the FMU offices and volunteer my envelope-stuffing services for the day. Or I'll wander around Chinatown and eat five dumplings for $1 on Eldridge St.
OK, let's see if I can manage to sleep for a couple of hours. The relaxing music will help! Reminds me a little of Roy Montgomery.

happy to share. im srprised to hear that other cats sound like lars, and have the same name too! we brought lars to denmark from brooklyn and danish people think its especially funny to have a cat named lars.
