"Polanie" is not a funny transformation of the world Poland - it's the name of a historical Slavic tribe which went on to form the first Polish country way back, in the old times. So the word Poland (and the Polish word Polska) comes from the word Polanie, not the other way around. Which is different than America, which no one named after one of your native people's (that would be something!). Anyways, it's also pronounced poh-lah-nyeh (this "nyeh" thing, you English speakers have definite problems pronouncing, so watch out!) - rather than poh-lah-nee, the way you said it. 		1:30:31 (Real)
