Playlist for The Evan "Funk" Davies Show - March 10, 2008

Mondays 11pm - 2am on WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm wfmu.org

Starting with the 70s -- it could be a classic (or obscure) punk rocker, a forgotten disco diva, a long-unheard hit record, or none of these. What happens next depends on what's in the WFMU new bin and whether I remember my records from home. Tune in and find out! You'll even hear a live band once in a while.

Mike Lupica: OK smart guy, let's hear your complicated opinions about the Chiefs of Relief!
EFD: I never heard of them! But their very brief wikipedia entry sounds intriguing.
ML: WHUUUHH?? Evan, get a hold of yourself and stop blowing your credentials out of the water. For you to not have heard of the Chiefs of Relief is like me never having heard of breathing. They are like the Godfathers meets the Art of Noise meets Malcolm McLaren's "Duck Rock" LP + Paul Cook from the Sex Pistols (who plays drums for them.)
I will give you one of their records.

And so he did.

Ahhh, Gallery...the stuff of truncated speeded-up K-Tel collections. It doesn't get any better than this (irony-free comment, no, really).

Wikka? Is that, like, the feminine singular form of the [t]redoubled plural "wikki wikki wikki"?

Regarding Bram Tchaikovsky, Hip-O-Select put on the remastered version of the CD back in December with the original 11 tracks. However, another UK site

http://www.heavymetalkids.co.uk/bram.htm

lists a remastered version with bonus tracks

You can check it out if you like
