 DJ ALF - the muthafuckin' man, who not only made the 4:19 theme, four variations on the intro theme to this show, among numerous other turntable based compositions for WFMU, and has guested several times on WFMU already including one web-only show with ALF on turntables and Scott Williams on guitar, -but to be here live for the Marathon took the day off work, drove up from Baltimore, and threw down like crazy off his turntable, mixer, and samples - including doing a live version of the 4:19 theme. And all this he did decked out in his sound-sensored T-shirt keeping beat. Also joining in the mix was co--host Ken who was dropping in samples off his laptop including many of his trademark bits like "Hello Sweden" and Alan Vega going "go go" or "warriors" etc....

HooWooooo! i won the congotronics 2 cd/dvd which rocks since i used to have it on mp3, but my hard drive crashed in october and lost hundreds of albums including that one!

i've recovered about 70% of what i lost thanks to the genteel courtesy of my friends..., yeah, but still... the funny thing is that it died as i was backing it up, it only saved the R-Z artists..........

That's right parq, you can get into this vicious circle of backing up. I buy externals two at a time, and I duct them together and they become twins. I back up to each one the same information. Sounds like a lot of messin' around but...no worries.

i found wfmu when i was living in fla from some article in some music magazine (i forget which) back in 1997, and i found the then tinny stream shortly after.... a few years later i found myself in brooklyn....
