This Erdem Helvaciouglu piece is awesome.

Meanwhile, to continue a discussion from Woody's playlist:
Dei X - then what is Vermin Supreme?

Mon. 1/7/08 3:23pm From: dei

So happy you fell for it. He's one of the bazillion people on the presidential ballot, but the US equivalent of the Raving Looney Party. mobilebroadcastnews.com and verminsupreme.com will give you examples (like don't invite him over to make pancakes).
This Songs is putting me in relax land.

Hello from Paris, France and Happy New Year to everyone !

Your playlists are always delightful, yours is today particularly great Iren, I'm listening to it while cooking, just like the french hobbit that I am ^^

Mon. 1/7/08 3:26pm From: JFred

9.30 PM here btw, that's why...

Mon. 1/7/08 3:29pm From: Irene

Glad to put you all in relaxation-land!

Happy New Year!

---Irene

BTW, JFred, I hope you're cooking something delicious for a winter's eve.

Mon. 1/7/08 3:29pm From: dei x

Hope you're making pancakes... delightful for every meal

Mon. 1/7/08 3:31pm From: Sean Daily

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!

Mon. 1/7/08 3:35pm From: JFred

Pancakes for dinner ?!? Omg.
Actually I'm cooking a Youvetsi, a greek recipe, small noodles with lamb meat in a tomato sauce, oven cooked.
Awesome I hope, doh!

Mon. 1/7/08 3:44pm From: Wes

JFred, your meal sounds delicious, I was just thinking how lunch today did NOT hit the spot. If you throw in some toasted pita and greek feta I'll be over in a jiffy.

Mon. 1/7/08 3:46pm From: Wes

And yes, this music is certainly putting me in sleepy...i mean....relaxation land. The thoughts of hot pancakes and sausage for dinner should pull me through.

Mon. 1/7/08 3:46pm From: Bad Ronald

I had lamb for lunch!

Mon. 1/7/08 3:49pm From: JFred

"Food - Music - Relaxation..."
That makes me think of a surrealistic Kraftwerk-esque Jingle ^^

QUESTION: What's the best place to get a Gyro in NYC? (only reply if you are a Gryo aficionado like I am and know what yer talkin about)

Mon. 1/7/08 3:55pm From: north guinea hills

depends on what type of gyro you're looking for... turkish, greek, lebanese, palestian?

Mon. 1/7/08 4:00pm From: Parq

Hmm. Bad Ron's announcement seems to invite an old tale; "Ronny had a little lamb ... "

Mon. 1/7/08 4:00pm From: Ron White

falafel

Mon. 1/7/08 4:02pm From: Ron White

GO RON PAUL 2008.

dont be played by fox and cnn.
dont elect another cfr member.

Mon. 1/7/08 4:10pm From: Sean Daily

Go Greek gyro. Tzatziki sauce... mmmmm....

Mon. 1/7/08 4:13pm From: Ike H

Wes: Haven't had a gyro lately, but check out this discussion:
http://www.chowhound.com/topics/355205

Whatever you do, don't go to Mamoun's. So many people recommend it, yet it's terrible, at least whenever I've gone.

Mon. 1/7/08 4:18pm From: g

I used to get a gyro from the guy on the corner of 53rd and Park, in front of the Seagram building. I think they're Lebanese. If it's not to your taste, well, it will have only cost you about 4 bucks to try. . .

Mon. 1/7/08 4:19pm From: Motorhead

RON PAUL 2008.

Mon. 1/7/08 4:20pm From: Wes

Sorry, should have been clear about that. I'm looking for a GREEK gyro...tzatziki sauce quality is as important as the savory flavor of the lamb, presentation, etc

Mon. 1/7/08 4:21pm From: Wes

MOTORHEAD/DEATHKLOK 2008

Mon. 1/7/08 4:37pm From: Wes

Thanks for the link, Ike, sounds like Karavas is the place to go!!!!

Mon. 1/7/08 4:39pm From: peter

Mon. 1/7/08 4:40pm From: karate papi chulo

ron paul is the man

Mon. 1/7/08 4:41pm From: north guinea hills

ah, i'm more into turkish/lebanese gyros....

there's a nice minimal pulsey electronic show by antiguos automatico mexicano tonight a supreme trading, if that's your thing. the lad is scoring me a gig in monterrey, mexico, so i'll swing by there.

Mon. 1/7/08 4:43pm From: Irene

The system seems to keep burping Ron Paul up like bad indigestion. Anyone able to explain why?

Mon. 1/7/08 4:45pm From: karate papi chulo

cuz he's the man.

Mon. 1/7/08 5:06pm From: Thom

Here's to a happy new year, Irene and fellow listeners... from me in Copenhagen... oh, by the way, my block has at least 10 different shawarma/falafel/gyro joints.

Mon. 1/7/08 5:11pm From: dei xhrist

re Ron Paul - because he's the political equivalent of tofu - any group can see their own agenda in his campaign. Vis, the white supremists... someone else on the FMU comments advised googling Paul and white power. Here in NH the latest humor (and potential reality) is a Kucinich/Paul ticket for November.

Mon. 1/7/08 5:12pm From: Bad Ronald

Instant Shawarma's gonna get you!

Mon. 1/7/08 5:30pm From: karate papi chulo

i love paying for wars that create more terrorism.
i love paying for welfare.
i love paying for wars that only benefit world bankers' agendas.
i love the patriot act.
i love giving up freedoms.

Mon. 1/7/08 5:37pm From: Prince

yeah...i like putting more money in the pockets of big bankers and corporate giants through war expenditures.

GO RON PAUL!!!

Mon. 1/7/08 5:51pm From: north guinea hills

i may be a softy, and yes she's melodramatic as the theater, but i really do like lavender diamond for some reason against all of my sensibilities, one of my fave recs of the year.

happy new year everyone!
