The reason your pot roast fell apart is because you used the wrong meat cut. Use chuck roast because it has more calogen and connective tissue. As it slowly cooks, the calogen breaks down and helps tenderize the meat. What you used was too lean and just turned into mush.

Then roast it, not braise it. It'll taste much better.

You should also double-check the temprature of your crock pot with a thermometer. The one I have gets way hotter than what it says on the dial.

No, because Crock Pots are designed to be safe when left alone. I'll leave it to another commenter to explain the intracacies of the design and why it's safe.
Pseu, you mean channel 55 still exists?!?

Yeah, the crock pot will be UL listed which means it will be plenty safe. I wouldn't hesitate to leave mine unattened sitting in a pile of gasoline soaked newspapers for hours on end.

Damn, Cablevision in Newark doesn't carry WLNY 55.
Amy Winehouse is OK but I don't go for the whole "self-destructive artiste" bullshit act. Just sing, lady, and quit trying to bait the tabloids. Anyway as far as the women you two mentioned, Tina Fey is 1000 times hotter. And funny.
Great show. And Donna coming up next! Wooo!

I feel gipped -- I should complain to the Newark branch. Cablevision is mostly the same throughout NJ. But in Newark we get the Home Frakkin' Shopping Network on channel 10. (Do people REALLY still buy shit off of there?!?) Bastids!
