Hi Bethany, just checkin' in with ya so you don't feel all alone. We're listening and feelin' good! Thanx for the grooves. Were you able to find anything of particular interest to you at the Fair?

ah yes, I did find something of interest...I only purchased ONE record this year. (Many of you know I've been scouring public libraries lately). But you all have to wait until next week for the identity of said record to be announced. Did you hunt and gather records at the fair?

When you say "records" do you mean actual vinyl? Do people still play those big black things? I have a closet full of them that I haven't played in a decade or more. Maybe I should have taken a booth at the record fair.

I'd say the fair was perhaps 70% vinyl and maybe 25% CDs, at least on Saturday. Is that about right? Did it seem like more vinyl and fewer CDs than usual to anybody else? But then, I usually go on Sundays rather than Saturdays. Maybe it's different on Sundays.
I never liked vinyl. I was soooooo happy when CDs were invented and became popular. You need to spend lots of money to get a turntable that sounds decent, whereas CD players are more standardized and don't have needles that need replacement, and CDs are far easier to store and manage. But I gained a new appreciation for vinyl at my college radio station, because the some of the other DJs were evil thieving punks who'd steal CDs, but not usually vinyl. So if we got something good on vinyl, sometimes it would stick around for a while.

No Bethany, I couldn't make it to the Fair this year. We're eager to find out what YOU found, though! Thanks for writing back. You've done a terrific Sunday evening show. Much appreciated.
