What a great show! I wonder if Ann Joy is a relative of mine (my last name is Joy). This bandit ducks from outer space track is great--the guitar leads are *exquisite*--and it's all becoming so real that I'm sneezing from all the feathers!!!! WOW!!!!

Thanks! i'm glad you enjoyed the Ann Joy and the Science Patrol. The Joy is a total curiousity. I stumbled upon it in a dollar bin out west, and no one seem to know anything about it. Ms. Joy looks as though she's spent a few too many nights in bars, put on too much makeup, and is trying out for Jane in some kind of post Bo Derek jungle adventure film... I wish I had a scan of the cover to post...

DJ Soft Bong or MC Soft Bong? I mean, which would look better on my business cards: www.myspace.com/djsoftbong or www.myspace.com/mcsoftbong

Speaking of Dr. Who, the soundtrack for the original Dr. Who series was made using a British-made synthesizer known as the EMS VCS-3! Pink Floyd and Hawkwind used EMS synthesizers as well....
I love synthesizers!

hi Mike, woke up just in time to hear the end of your show. The tracklist looks interesting though, so I will listen to the archive once it gets available. No German or Dutch new wave this time? Next week more luck...

you can see a pic of ann joy by typing her name into discogs - her other "hits" include "hot plate"...and i'm expecting that cover to make more of the "ANN JOY/ENJOY" connection...

The Dutch music will return next week, it was an inadvertent omission this week.

Isn't "Soft Bong" a little known Claes Oldenburg work from the 70s?

Hi, I found your site on line, and though I haven't heard your show, I am one half of Exotica Maximus. I'm thrilled our music is still getting played, especially stateside! If you have any questions, fire away! Cheers!

Hey Daniel, if you're one half of Exotica Maximus, I bought a Teac 4 track from your vocalist Jill?? back in '83? she also gave me a copy of Paint it Black, which I've still got! You'd upgraded to a bigger set up. How mad is that! Anyway, I'm now writing for an outfit called Electrapilot. All the Best!
