What a great show! I wonder if Ann Joy is a relative of mine (my last name is Joy). This bandit ducks from outer space track is great--the guitar leads are *exquisite*--and it's all becoming so real that I'm sneezing from all the feathers!!!! WOW!!!!

xoxo

Thanks! i'm glad you enjoyed the Ann Joy and the Science Patrol. The Joy is a total curiousity. I stumbled upon it in a dollar bin out west, and no one seem to know anything about it. Ms. Joy looks as though she's spent a few too many nights in bars, put on too much makeup, and is trying out for Jane in some kind of post Bo Derek jungle adventure film... I wish I had a scan of the cover to post...

i think your new 'FMU moniker should be "DJ SOFT BONG"

Sat. 10/20/07 12:26am From: DJ Soft Bong

DJ Soft Bong or MC Soft Bong? I mean, which would look better on my business cards: www.myspace.com/djsoftbong or www.myspace.com/mcsoftbong

Sat. 10/20/07 12:33am From: Dan

I think there's something quite striking about "MC Soft Bong"!

Speaking of Dr. Who, the soundtrack for the original Dr. Who series was made using a British-made synthesizer known as the EMS VCS-3! Pink Floyd and Hawkwind used EMS synthesizers as well....

I love synthesizers!

Sat. 10/20/07 1:34am From: DJ Soft Bong

The station had a great cd by Tristram Cary, but I can't seem to locate it right now...

Sat. 10/20/07 1:49am From: Borneo

INCREDIBLE.... one of the best kinks' covers

Sat. 10/20/07 2:06am From: Jan-Simon

hi Mike, woke up just in time to hear the end of your show. The tracklist looks interesting though, so I will listen to the archive once it gets available. No German or Dutch new wave this time? Next week more luck...

Sat. 10/20/07 9:37am From: em

you can see a pic of ann joy by typing her name into discogs - her other "hits" include "hot plate"...and i'm expecting that cover to make more of the "ANN JOY/ENJOY" connection...

Sat. 10/20/07 10:12pm From: DJ Soft Bong

The Dutch music will return next week, it was an inadvertent omission this week.

Mon. 10/29/07 12:11am From: Paul Z.

Isn't "Soft Bong" a little known Claes Oldenburg work from the 70s?

Wed. 10/31/07 9:36pm From: Daniel

Hi, I found your site on line, and though I haven't heard your show, I am one half of Exotica Maximus. I'm thrilled our music is still getting played, especially stateside! If you have any questions, fire away! Cheers!

Wed. 1/16/08 10:02am From: Paul

Hey Daniel, if you're one half of Exotica Maximus, I bought a Teac 4 track from your vocalist Jill?? back in '83? she also gave me a copy of Paint it Black, which I've still got! You'd upgraded to a bigger set up. How mad is that! Anyway, I'm now writing for an outfit called Electrapilot. All the Best!
