September 11, 2007: New Zealand Fest w/ TOM LAX (Siltbreeze) and HAMISH KILGOUR (Clean/Mad Scene)
Today it's three hours of New Zealand sounds, thanks to a collection of records owned by the fella who's imported more than a few of that country's stellar lights (Dead C, Alastair Galbraith, Pin Group included) into our consciousness via his Philadelphia-based Siltbreeze label. Today's show will be mostly bypassing the more familiar Flying Nun path in favor of lesser known terrain that leads through labels such as Onset/Offset, obscure one-offs such as the Portage & Nux Vomica as well as a smattering of lathe cuts. As an added bonus, Hamish Kilgour from the Clean/Mad Scene/Bailter Space/Great Unwashed fame will be visiting to tell some war stories of being smack dab in the middle of New Zealand punk/post-punk! Todays progam is sure to include all that is Clean & unclean. Tune in!
