Artist Track Album Label Format Comments Year New
Siriusmo  Wow   Boogybytes 03  Bpitch Control  CD  Mix CD by Modeselektor  2007  *
Ray Cathode  Time Beat         OK, here is a great way to add analog-style artifacts to your digital recordings. You might want to think about what this means for the future and the past. 1) Download some tunes from a blog or something. 2) Burn it on a data CD and bring it to the radio station. 3) Play the MP3 through winamp DIRECTLY OFF THE CD instead of copying it to the hard drive first. 4) Sit back and smirk at how smart u r and listen to the artifacts
Of Montreal  The Past is a Grotesque Animal   Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?  Polyvinyl  CD  This song is so good. About 6 minutes in he says some bad words, so I'm thankful for doing this web show today so I can play the whole "damn" thing all the way through. They did a karaoke thing the other night in Greenpoint but it was sold out :(  2007  *
Stevie Nicks  Wild Heart

A&E  Somewhere Else   Oi!  Sonig  CD  Man, this bassline reminds me of something and I can't quite put my finger on it. Kind of like maybe Bentley Rhythm Ace or like one of those drum n' bass people around then, but I'm also thinking more along the lines of Tricky or something. Meat Beat Manifesto? Shit, I can't figure it out now. I have to go cue up another record. Hold on.  2007  *
Tori Amos  Big Wheel         Aw HELL yeah. I am just young enough to have not really been wrapped up in anything Tori Amos REALLY represented when she was at the peak of her height of her popularity, thank God! Are there parts of this song that suck? Yeah. But then it pops back in with duh DAH duh DUH duh DAH and you're all....ok....all right....Tori! Tori TORI! Somehow I ended up with a copy of her book though. Don't read that.
Babils  2 = 3         That was one of those monumental kind of bad transitions that makes you want to shrivel up and die. Lucky for you I'm "tearing down the third wall" and letting you know how bad I feel about it. I'll try to fix that and make a really cool transition out of this song now.
Gui Boratto  Terminal   Chromophobia  Kompakt  CD  OK, I did an OK job of transitioning out of that one, but I'd like to go ahead and wish that I'd never played that last song. Well, not never, it's not such a bad song in and of itself, but it certainly didn't need to sit right there where it did. Apologies if you were just trying to have a nice listening experience, and then THAT happened!  2007  *
Chris Carter  Moonlight   Mondo Beat      From Throbbing Gristle and Chris [Carter] & Cosey [Fanni Tutti]. Looks like Optimo did a mix that featured this song.

Optimo - Electrobeat Mix

1984
Tom Verlaine  A Parade in Littleton         He was on Gaylord's show last January, really!!!
Cornelius  Wataridori / Gum   Sensuous  Everloving  CD  He's coming to play at Webster hall on May 10th. It's called "Sensuous Experience" or something and I imagine it being a big spectacle like Flaming Lips or Gwar or Thrill Kill Kult but better, concentrating more on things.  2007  *

Radio Zumbido  Revuelta   Pequeno Transistor de Radio  Quartermass  CD    2007
Transformer Di Roboter  HI-end         ICH BIN....HI-END!!!
Bonde Do Role  Rap Do CB   Solta O Frango Single  Domino  CD    2007  *
Colourbox  Hot Doggie
Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich  Hold Tight   Death Proof soundtrack  Maverick  CD  Obviously, I am running out of steam with these playlist comments, thank G. But this was in the movie "Death Proof" in one of the big scenes, and the big scene has a lot to do with "radio culture" if you are into that kind of thing.  2007
Nouvelle Vague  Too Drunk to Fuck   s/t      Dead Kennedys cover, feautred in Grindhouse
Dj*Chola  [theta] LM   Unacknowledged Pop-Song Collection Vol. 666  Xerxes  CD    2007  *
Chok Rock  Give It Up   Big City Loser  Warp  CD    2005

Panda Bear  Bros   Person Pitch  Paw Tracks  CD  Can't think of any reason to stop playing this album anytime soon, as long as I don't play it "too much." You know when you love an album, and you play it a million times and then you stop listening to it and it ruins the album for you forever after then? It's like you spent all your listens when you first got it, you blew your load and now you don't get to listen anymore! Is that a bad way to do things? No, because now there is so much music and so many ways to get it that people get lost in streams of too much music, and it is a really great feeling to have a "favorite album" on a CD you can take in the car or something, even if it means you're sick of it after a while.  2007  *
Richard Pinhas  Ruitor
Bait Ones  Teenage Hate   Demonic Freak Scene  Time Bomb  CD  Goal: play only rock songs for next hour  2007  *
Ko and the Knockouts  You're On My Mind   S/T  Wicked Cool  CD  It's going OK but I don't know how it's going to be going in a minute  2007  *
The Darkness  Givin' Up   Permission to Land      OK, I know three songs
Lucky Soul  Get Outta Town!         Going strong but seriously guys I don't know. Email me your letters of support. The only reason I like this song is because her voice is so hot and good guitar on the chorus. OK, that's good enough reason to like the whole thing - could do without all that brass though
Hidden Cameras  I Want Another Enema   Missasauga Goddamn      Debatable if this is "rock" but the organ drone chord throughout the entire song was in perfect tune with the last song so it's rock enough
Juniper Moon  El Resto de mi Vida
Four Volts  Heartworm (ooh ooh song)         I'd hate to hear what this 96k mp3 sounds like AFTER it's been compressed again and inside your ear. The point is, this show is still rocking hard. But it kind of sounds like we're inside a dishwasher
Clearlake  Almost the Same   Cedars      The beginning of this one kind of "rocks"
Blonde Redhead  SW   23  4AD  CD  OK I was going to try to pass this off as "rock" but it simply isn't. The rock is over, time for some more limp-wristed techno or indie pop bullshit!    *

Department of Eagles  No One Does It Like You
DAF  Verlieb Dich In Mich
LCD Soundsystem  All My Friends   Sound of Silver  Capitol  CD  SOMEONE has been hanging out with Delia G and Gavin R for a little while    *

Ukeleles of Halifax  Country Roads
