Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Mall Moment : Michael was so nervous when I interviewed him. It terrified him. Poor guy. He did well though. Thank you, Michael! Interviewing in the mall was hard. Imagine walking up to strangers in Wisconsin with a very unofficial looking little micro-cassette recorder and asking for an interview for a radio station in New Jersey. Half the people think (know) I am crazy.
Excerpt - Adventures in Sound and Space - Col. Frank Erhardt - 1958 (RCA) I use this record a lot for sound bytes. I love it. It captures all that magic we felt about space when I was a kid. Reminds me of watching Gemini and Apollo missions on TV with my family and everybodies ceremonial grandpa ... Walter Cronkite. However ... this record, which I purchased in an antique store in my hometown for $1, pre-dates all that. Made the year I was born. '58

A Very Special Globewarming with Benji's Friends and The Man On The Moon!

A long-winded low-energy genuflection which attempts to milk your sentiment through the unfair use of Samuel Barber's "Adagio For Strings."

Further blatant overuse of my recently purchased Jerry Falwell thrift store LP. I'll stop.

A caller from Iowa!!!
Excerpts from "We Love Iowa," a 1979 promotional LP from United Federal Savings and Loan Assc. and "Hawkeye Hut-Hut" from The Fabulous Fryers Band, (45rpm - 1981) a promo record from Pizza Hut! Prize possessions.
Being from Iowa myself, I love all this Hawkeye stuff. I was thrilled to get a call from Iowa City ... thanks! Now I am homesick. RIP Robert Preston! Go Wheelers! If you are ever in Iowa, visit the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake. Final gig site for Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Richie Valens. Waylon took the bus. Right next door is Mason City ... home of Meredith Willson who wrote The Music Man.

Thanks for listening everyone. I really do appreciate it. Thanks for your e-mails (dusty@wfmu.org) - It's really cool to know The Dusty Show is heard all over the place. I was excited to get an e-mail from a courier in Toronto who listens while he roller skates around up there. And it was so cool to hear from a fellow Hawkeye! And the truck driver from Jersey! Breaker 1-9! Thanks to my friend Joyce for re-broadcasting the "Kentucky Show" on WMNF in Tampa, Fl. Great station! The Dusty Show Answering Machine has been getting a good response. Please call if you can and leave a message I can put on the show. A poem would be great! 201 521 1375. OK That's it. OH! The Dusty Show is now available in podcast form! And watch for the Clay Pigeon blog on FMU's "Beware of the Blog" coming soon. All right. Now I am done. Have a good week everyone and ... always remember!!!!
