"The Answer Tapes" is a series of "found and stolen" answering machine tapes compiled by Michael Barker who acquired the tapes over past five years in maryland, delaware, new jersey, PA, and New York...some of messages are two way conversations recorded on answering machines ..> packaging includes a string of creased cassette tape folded into its jenky Xerox homemade looking CD packaging..Played about five tracks throughout show which just scratched the surface of the engaging variety of messages. www.heresee.com >What a great idea! To make an album out of answering machine cassettes.....guess we could call it "reality cassettes"....And you know - you could and should do an album like this too.. keep an eye out at yard sales for cassettes..anything homemade...and while you're at it...pick up any VHS tapes..too!..
