Regarding what the General Baking Company baked:

The history of General Host is traced to June 1911, when the General Baking Co. was incorporated in New York as an amalgamation of 21 baking companies from 12 different states. ...The production of bread, sold under the trade name of "Bond Bread", accounted for over 90 percent of its sales and production averaged nearly 1.5 million loaves per day [in 1920s?]

In 1972, General Host and two executives were fined $16,000 for unsanitary conditions at a bakery. The conditions were originally discovered when a mouse was discovered sliced in a loaf of Bond bread. General sold off the majority of its Bond Bread baking division by 1972.

Speaking of Cracker Barrel... my friend Jay Stuckey tells me his grandfather drank a cup of coffee in NYC (I believe he said NYC), then started driving west until he had to pee and said, "Here's where the first Stuckey's will be!"
  11:35pm

And yeah, I know Stuckey's isn't Cracker Barrel. I just like the story.

Word comes in of a new Braxton box:

Tri-Centric's New Braxton House Records is currently preparing for the production of 10 Comp (Lorraine) 2022 which features recordings of Braxton's Lorraine music recorded in 2021 and 2022 featuring Susana Santos Silva (trumpet), Adam Matlock (accordion), James Fei (saxophones), Zach Rowden (bass), and Carl Testa (bass). These recordings are the second release of Lorraine music after the 2022 release Duo (Other Minds) 2021. The 10 Comp (Lorraine) 2022 release will feature 10 CDs and new liner notes by Braxton himself.
