Heya Harry. Mrs. Flot and I enjoyed Rt. 66. We actually met ON Rt 66 -- when we were both teaching at a university in Joplin, MO. Rt. 66 went right through the middle of town and we met at a bar that was on the old Rt. 66

When I was a kid we used to take old time radio LP from the library and tape them with cassettes and we listened to them during summer camping trips. So I knew all about Jack Benny, Fred Allen, Duffy's Tavern, Mercury Theatre, Suspense, etc.

He did completely indescribably surreal noir soundscapes with spoken work parts. He was at KCRW in Santa Monica for decades. Just passed a few years ago. WFMU used to run his show. It's amazing radio
