Hall was diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas which spread to his liver, then developed diabetes due to his pancreas being attacked. It was over in months.

Well everyone should read Huxley's 'Doors of Perception' - really a long essay. Then for understanding it all I'd recommend 'Storming Heaven' by Jay Stevens on the history of what happened with it ...& Julian Cope's 'Head On' for what being an acidhead ends up being like.
