Verdict? With practice, you can certainly get them to make fascinating experimental records. I think you could even get pretty decent at making something that sounds like your song played over AM radio, but would only sound worse over time, due to degradation. Might be fun to play with for the purposes of making noisy things, but not sure if they are for making an item to share audio with.
