Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm

Destroit, I'm concerned the fridge is too cold and the wrong humidity for aging your cheese, but it's not a total no-no. The basement is the best option, as long as you can keep it protected from mice and other cheese-loving critters. Also, make sure you turn it periodically to distribute the moisture. I'm no affinage expert, but I can tell you that much.

Destroit, yes, the coldest corner, for sure! And keep it away from direct light. Put it in a seal-tight plastic bin of some sort that it fits in, but that also gives it a little breathing room inside the bin. You want to maintain constant humidity in the bin.

first time i went to Maxwell's -- i think i was still living in New Brunswick? (going to Douglass/Rutgers) -- late 1970s? The Fleshtones were playing, and there were some of the "old timers" there too, digging and dancing -- one dapper gentleman in a sports jacket, waving his handkerchief around while dancing, exclaiming, "I LOVE THIS!" -- i miss those days

Thanks Daniel ! Gold star show!

Irving Plaza in NYC was that venue for me. Easier to get to than Starland Ballroom in Sayreville (no public transit access)

@HD -- not real familiar with them -- metal/hardcore? (& i did not know they palyed at Maxwell's! but then again, dummy that i am, i missed Nirvana when they played at Maxwell's, way before they were all *famous*)

Slug, the ONLY time I ever went to Maxwell's it was to see The Lyres. I had to walk back to where I was staying in the snow. It was worth it, a hundred times over.

Excellent show DB!

& yeah, Irving Plaza still pretty decent and easy to get to -- went to a lot of shows there -- Bowery Ballroom too

Franco! damn, right? i missed that too! but heard that The Lyres had put on an incredible show

@slug ETID was melodic hardcore/southern rock from Buffalo, NY. They played almost every single Warped Tour. Road dogs who gained the respect of everyone even if they weren't into the music. Band had a huge falling out between the singer and guitarist who are brothers last year when they broke up.

Discogs says "Their sound contains elements of metal, hardcore, math rock, noisecore, and rock and roll." No speedcore, grindcore, doom or prog in the mix?

Rob (Jerzcity):

@HD - that's the band with that burly-ass wrestler, right?
Avatar 11:50pm

@Rob Andy Williams aka The Butcher from AEW correct!

@HD -- right! i remember reading about the un-amicable breakup (maybe in Brooklyn Vegan?) -- but have heard their music here and there (WSOU?)

Not the Andy Williams from the 70's variety show then?
