	♥ 6:23pm Mark Hurst: @Handy it's a good question. Of course in their public pronouncements ("we care deeply about privacy") the companies all give lip service to privacy. But in their operation - their brazenness in how they collect data, sometimes even in contrast to what's promised by their software - the companies are habituating us to the end of privacy. Actions, here, speak louder than (and contrary to) their words.
	♥ 6:24pm Mark Hurst: One easy example is the current lawsuit against Google, whose "Incognito Mode" made everyone think that it was protecting their privacy but was in fact doing just the opposite. Glad to see Google get sued over this.

The most known case is, after The Church Committee imposed limitations on surveillance, etc.. us gov't agencies used right wing groups like the John Birch Society to do the work and then "legally" had over the info to us agencies...

Between the cell phone pings and the camera footage that these towers will be capturing, what’s left of the privacy and anonymity we supposedly still enjoy is scheduled to evaporate."
