Franco Twinkie:

Andrew, when I was in high school I took a girl I knew to The Griffith Park Zoo. She was fascinated by the giraffes. She was completely out of my reach All the guys wanted to be with her. I didn't stand a chance. I went home and painted a little picture of a giraffe with a bag of M&M's floating over it's head. None of the guys with hot trucks or piles of drugs ever did something like that for her. It took years, but I finally won her heart.

Recently, when listening to Little Steven’s Underground Garage on Sirius, I heard him talk about a film called The Idolmaker from 1980.

It sounded like it would be a cool watch because it’s about the music industry during the pre-Beatle time period similar to Bob and Pete’s American Music Before The Beatles shows.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any way to watch it. Anyone here seen it?

@Bob Brainen - this took some digging, but Black Light is a rework of Peggy's Blue Skylight. Mingus helped select all of the tracks played on Pepper Adam's Album.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:39pm
doctorjazz:

What James Douglas said @1:29. It's a classic Mingus track, under the name Peggy's Blue Skylight. That album seems not so easy to find (at least on line, one copy on Discogs, from Germany, not inexpensive). But there's a reissue (CD it looks like).
