	♥ 12:40am coelacanth∅: my whackbook is refurbished also, ~2008. my second one. the first one became incompatible with any useful operating systems/programs. this one's got issues. (like it usually wont play flame-o-scope in the playlist page. . . ) but it's mostly dependable. i never open more than 7-8 tabs open at once, and 98% of the time not more than 3. i clear cookies often, except the ones that cause big problems when cleared, like bandcamp. i turn all power off with a power strip to computer, internet and monitor when i'm not using it. i know these things help.

	12:44am BH: One way to describe the age of the laptop is that it has a Windows 8 sticker on the bottom of it. But it's lasted way longer than the College-era laptop that was replaced in almost 4 years or the second laptop with just died within like 3 1/2 years.

	♥ 12:55am coelacanth∅: having a laptop on plastic crates also helps to keep it cooler. i don't use any of my 3 laptops without air circulation under and all around it. the (also c.2008) compaq presario (w/vista, sadly) will shut down within 30-60 minutes from overheating if i don't do that.

That location is probably better if it's on a lap instead of on a desk but the charger port difficulty has kept this laptop stationary for awhile. Having an iPhone has led me to do some things on it that I had used a laptop for in the past

	♥ 1:38am coelacanth∅: before turning my phone on the first time i stuck post-it notes over the surveillance lenses. then before i registered it with my phone company i disabled all gobble-related applications, gps, microphone,fingerprint shit, etc etc. it took hours. then to find out they so badly want your information they designed it so the camera won't work without the mic enabled. so no camera. then to realise it's a complete piece of shit anyway! i thought the lg i got bamboozled into last time (told it was not a "smartphone" when it was) was crappy. this samsung is a slice of hell! i'll probably just switch companies next, even though i'm happy with the service itself.

(like it usually wont play flame-o-scope in the playlist page. . . ) but it's mostly dependable. i never open more than 7-8 tabs open at once, and 98% of the time not more than 3. i clear cookies often, except the ones that cause big problems when cleared, like bandcamp. i turn all power off with a power strip to computer, internet and monitor when i'm not using it. i know these things help.

	12:44am BH: One way to describe the age of the laptop is that it has a Windows 8 sticker on the bottom of it. But it's lasted way longer than the College-era laptop that was replaced in almost 4 years or the second laptop with just died within like 3 1/2 years.
