	♥ 4:10pm tim from washington: @Crosby in KC - I haven't seen current Stereolab but saw them 3 times when the were around originally, 1993, 2000 AND 2005. Each time they were great and the live instrumentation was different each time. When I saw them in 2005 they used a french horn for Mary Hanson's vocal accompaniment. That was actually quite touching.

I heard David Byrne talking about that recently. Switching arrangements, instruments or just knowing that some songs just won't work live or in some venues.

The first time I saw them the were full on 3-4 guitars and 3 synths and organs on stage that the members would bounce around between song to song. Then in 2000 it was a bigger show opening for sonic youth they had more of a "traditional" set up for a big stage.

Each time they were great and the live instrumentation was different each time. When I saw them in 2005 they used a french horn for Mary Hanson's vocal accompaniment. That was actually quite touching.

I heard David Byrne talking about that recently. Switching arrangements, instruments or just knowing that some songs just won't work live or in some venues.

The first time I saw them the were full on 3-4 guitars and 3 synths and organs on stage that the members would bounce around between song to song. Then in 2000 it was a bigger show opening for sonic youth they had more of a "traditional" set up for a big stage.
