The second question after how is the rider is normally 'how is the bike?'

After my crash when conciousness had returned with me lying in the road, some people had put the bike on its stand on the pavement. The lights were still on and my first question was, can someone turn them off, it will drain the battery.

DJLorraine - As a motorcycle rider, people texting is very scary. especially when stopped behind a car at a light. if a driver is approaching from behind and is texting he can sandwich a rider between the two cars.

as a rider, never position yourself directly behind a car stopped in front of you. either filter to the front of the line of cars, or position yourself just outside of the car in front of you. This protects you from being sandwiched.

Benny: the "cry" around here is "bikers have rights." Well then, when you (the collective rights crew) crash & the bills come in above & beyond what you're insured for, I ask "who pays for that ?" The answer is the pool of good drivers of all types of vehicles who also have rights. The way I feel is why should my rates go up yearly with a spotless driving record since 1976 to pay for those who act recklessly?

@HyperDose, yeah, it was almost mini Bandcamp; I remember people posting streams of their music, etc. Although I do miss the punk-rock aesthetic of passing out flyers. My friend Bunny in Perp Walk did the whole "hand-lettered cut-up collage" style black and white flyers. For every gig, she used a different news photograph of someone famous getting arrested, ie doing the perp walk. First one was Son of Sam; over the years any celebrity or notorious arrest got the treatment. Along with the tagline -- "our admission price for this gig is our favorite--free!"

Yes, bikers have to watch out for motorists and vice versa. Lots of stories of bikers getting hit by a car. However, we were driving north on Tramway in Albuquerque and we saw a young man on a motorcycle pulling wheelies. He ran a red light while doing the wheelie. suddenly, traffic in the left lane was stopped and same guy was injured (bleeding arms for some reason, maybe tatoos?) and two guys ran to help him pick up his bike. Hope is more cautious moving forward and that he wears proper ppe.

Joe: Great to hear more '60s+ folk. Makes me wanna go walk the cobblestones of the Village. (Under asphalt mostly.)

I rode on rhe back of motorcycles with safe drivers. Many were truckers that used proper signaling and group etiquette. I've been to too many memorials. One we were in the funeral procession and an elderly biker lost control and struck a tree. I can not tolerate loud pipes anymore. I recall most of the bikers wanted to be different yet all dressed similar with jeans and black shirts and vests and silver jewelry.

i played high flying bird on the jukebox at the pub (~15 years ago) and a guy said to me i think this singer is imitating grace slick!
idiot.
i just laughed, but he wasn't joking.

(and it's a big insult, in my opinion)
