Avatar 6:09pm

Hearing "Eve Of Destruction" again what struck me was the vocal choir in the verses that is mixed back and how Phil Sloan's lyrics are so prescient - he was in his late teens when he wrote this.

Avatar 6:17pm

Bones thought these mixes out in advance with his reductions - very clever!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm

MW -- just a total amateur learning by trial and error. i am fascinated by how (Howe) others learned their craft.
Avatar 6:19pm
MOM WHIG:

F2 a total learning process - but looks like we have the best here.
Avatar 6:19pm
WLSClark:

Bones had so many great recordings. I will wait to hear if you two discuss these things, but if not, can you comment on these things?
1. Did he work with Artie Wayne (who wrote 5D's Flashback") at the time that single was made? Did he comment on Artie at all?
2. I hope you asked about Someday man. I LOVED that 45!
3. Did he find it a bit scary to do "Declaration" as being to old fashioned? THAT song was how I know the words to the Declaration today!
4. Did he comment any on appearing on the TV'er "It Take a Thief" show?
5. How about his work with Jim Holvay and the Mob? Would love to know anything about that session.
6. Did he have full control over Wrecking Crew members when producing those songs?
Anyway, I'll stop there and keep listening.

The Chicago studio -looks like I walked by that building every day on my way to work-back when I would leave the house for work. Apparently it moved a couple of times.
