It was running. Early spring. It wasn’t ‘our’ river per say. But close enough. Was down around Princeton, Newtown PA. Also went to Spring Valley and saw my great grandparents graves for the first time. Now that was something….

River Sister- it’s an old textile mill working class city on the south shore. A lot like Lynn where I grew up. A pretty tough town from what I remember. The Lizzie Borden case came out of there!

Rainy day here in NYC.. where I've lived most of my adult life.. Born in Brooklyn, moved to Albertson, Long Island (Nassau County) at 3 years.. then back to Bed Stuy Brooklyn to attend Pratt Institute in 1970.. From there, into lower Manhattan in 1974. Left NYC never to return, in 1989 for the SF Bay Area, but missed New York town and returned to Manhattan in 1991.. been 'home' 31 years as of last month?!!

My Polish-Jewish mom would slice up hot dogs, chop onions, then saute them with scrambled eggs, was DELISH! (Bologna worked well in the same recipe).

I used to go to Two Boots in Park Slope, Brooklyn when I lived there (not the best ever, but interesting choices way back when they didn't put the kitchen sink on pizza).
Staten Island is where I go for the best pizza, Joe and Pats is where I go (great eggplant parm as well).
Cosimos in Westfield NJ makes a great Grandma Pizza.

Feel you, Spinning Giant-my mom passed 9 years ago, right around now (Anniversary next weekend). Kids were young, and they did get to know her some, but she had dementia, didn't get to know her as she had been...(my wife saw a video'd interview with her about her wartime experiences, and was surprised how well spoken and bright she was...)
