BPN, I made short ribs and potato kugel (it's a Seder gathering-my mom made a great kugel, basically a souffle, or very thick potato pancake. Wife made chicken, Brisket, got some matzoh pudding coming, and my daughter made french-style macarons.

Early 60s we lived in Spartanburg just feet from the tracks - we got used to it and loved it - couldn't sleep well for weeks after we moved. Those cars would boom and the wheels clacking.

They used to be L&N (Louisville & Nashville) trains, before the L&N was swallowed by CSX. Pre-50s they were steam trains, adding to the cloud of coal smoke fouling the city.
