ran in to gerald cleaver and kenny wollesen hanging at the bar at a restaurant around the corner from the new school/the stone before a ben goldberg nonet show. got to chat with them, and bought them a round, and had to run to go make sure i got my ticket and Cleaver said to drop his name at the door as his guest. nice guy! this was summer before covid.

On Dave Sewelson's show, I heard Sara Schoenbeck mention Wayne Horvitz's East-West Quartet, which she and Miles were members of. I had forgotten about the group, even though I have two CDs. It is a great setting for Miles, as it is more like chamber music than the usual jazz quartet.

I saw that one first-the pork shoulder in the recipe was what I found intimidating-leaning towards small ribs.
We have close friends, very Italian families, pre-pandemic they had us over for Christmas dinner with family and made the most amazing gravy, ribs, meatballs, sausage, that's the picture I have in my head...
