Just personal use. The chooks are all ex battery so they get a decent life for a few years after being on the production line. No one gives a shit about them but everyone wants cheap chicken & eggs.

Yes they are. They are called free range these days but that is only one step better than battery. Very short of feathers and skinny. After a few months the feathers return and the combs get a good red colour.
