Hey Stanley and Summer and Michael and Sylvia! Stork, the accordion player is Ludovic Beier,a member of the Django Festival Allstars. The play Birdland in NYC a lot and just finished a fall tour. Just saw an online concert with that ensemble recorded for SF Jazz. So great.

I saw The Monkees on the last tour where it was all four of them. 1997 if I recall rightly. I remember being slightly disappointed at the time - though in truth it was at my least favourite London venue of all time, which didn't help. Looking back, though, boy am I glad I saw them. Not possible any longer.

james, there are quite a few clips on Your Tube from both Elephant Parts and Television Parts. Nesmith used a surprising number of comedians who weren't as well known in the early 70's. I'll post links after the show today.

It's funny, I remember when Songs for Drella came out just being entranced in my youthful way by the 'what the ex-Velvets were doing and thinking about each other' glamour of it all. Now, thirty plus years later, with all attendant extra life under the belt, it just sounded sad. Sad that they were often all so horrid to each other. But I guess that's life.
