My Stepmom has a place in Delaware and during the summers we'd sometimes drive down and pass several different scrapple factories in rural DE. Local diners always had many variations. My Dad (may he rest in peace) loved the plain one; I loved the maple one and the onion/garlic variation. I always like my slab extra crispy.

For non-US peeps on this feed, Tollhouse Cookies are an American home-made staple. Imagine chocolate chip cookies that also have a big helping of soft, meltable butterscotch flavored chips--they look like pale chocolate chips--in the batter. They are a Nestle exclusive product IIRC and anyone who ever baked cookies as a kid growing up probably made at least one batch of these with Mom/Grandma/Other Older Parental Figure. They are made even more delicious with the addition of cooked bacon.

My Stepmom has a place in Delaware and during the summers we'd sometimes drive down and pass several different scrapple factories in rural DE. Local diners always had many variations. My Dad (may he rest in peace) loved the plain one; I loved the maple one and the onion/garlic variation. I always like my slab extra crispy.

For non-US peeps on this feed, Tollhouse Cookies are an American home-made staple. Imagine chocolate chip cookies that also have a big helping of soft, meltable butterscotch flavored chips--they look like pale chocolate chips--in the batter. They are a Nestle exclusive product IIRC and anyone who ever baked cookies as a kid growing up probably made at least one batch of these with Mom/Grandma/Other Older Parental Figure. They are made even more delicious with the addition of cooked bacon.
