never been to Guanajuato, but I have been to a Home Depot in Mexico.... (didn't sound like this, the piped in music was mostly American, but people were speaking Spanish (Monterrey is essentially just south Texas, but nicer).

@chresti, they can make field recordings, mainly limited by the mics. If you use the built in software it usually compresses the file before letting you have it, better to download an app specifically meant for recording that will give you uncompressed files.

I use my phone when I don't have anything else handy and I've played phone recordings on my show. It's not high-fidelity but sometimes the best recorder is the one you have in your hand
