Hiya Pauly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06pm
ultradamno:

You can't slow down Little Eva, don't even try.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14pm
Pauly from Clifton:

Damn, I've seen three out of the five artists played tonight --so far -- live. Shit, I am getting old!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15pm
Nate K.:

@Pauly, do tell!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm
Ike-O:

dude, seriously? i'm exacly high enough to hear this song again, thank's so much @nate k
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm
Pauly from Clifton:

I saw Johnny Copeland and Snooks Eaglin in NYC, late 80s early 90s(?). Not on the same bill. Johnny Copeland played BB King's joint and Snooks Eaglin played some small joint in the West Village. The name escapes me. Boozoo played the annual Louisiana Swamp Romp at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA for a few years. Good times!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm
Nate K.:

@Ike-O, happy to oblige.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm
Nate K.:

I'd give a lot to see Snooks in a small club. Alas...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm
Ike-O:

and now this is like a nice irish whiskey - smooth and mellow with a mouthful of smoke. great show tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32pm
ultradamno:

I imagine if Yvonne Fair wanted to take a song for herself she could do it. I remember from that album cover she had a whip
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm
Nate K.:

Haha. No disrespect meant to Yvonne!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm
Pauly from Clifton:

@Nate, I wish I could remember the name of the place. It was named after the proprietress. They hosted all these classic artists. I saw Hubert Sumlin and Sunnyland Slim there during the same period also.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47pm
WR:

I think I should join this party, just a sec, get my drink.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54pm
ultradamno:

Yay Beex. Got to see them in Richmond around 84 and talked to Christine a little, who was very nice. Great band
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm
Pauly from Clifton:

Hey WR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm
ultradamno:

Vinyl of this is still available from the band's bandcamp (w/o digital download) the label will be pressing more, if you want to get both from their BC beex.bandcamp.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm
Pauly from Clifton:

@ultradamno, thanks for the link!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59pm
WR:

Hi Pauly, do you remember about where that small club in the West Village was?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm
WR:

Abbey Lincoln (on this Max Roach cut) is so great! Singer and actress.
  10:05pm
Carmichael:

Heya Nate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm
ultradamno:

She has kind of a June Tyson style, giving an overall Ra vibe to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15pm
Pauly from Clifton:

@WR, Jeez...7th or 8th Sts? At 10th or Bleeker, perhaps?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm
WR:

Thanks, trying to think of what may have been there that featured performers like that.
  10:23pm
Carmichael:

Sounds like the Small Faces to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm
Pauly from Clifton:

WR, "Roberta's" popped into my head, but that's in New Orleans. Then I thought "Mable's", but I don't think that's right either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm
WR:

Yes, Carmichael, not a typical Beach Boys tune.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm
ultradamno:

Fairuza Balk does an incredible, almost psychobilly, version of this in the movie Humboldt County
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm
ultradamno:

Tires that do not blow up are a plus!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38pm
Pauly from Clifton:

Ultradamno, I'm a big fan of Fairuza Balk, but am unaware of that movie. I need to watch that. Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm
ultradamno:

A few places seem to have it, prime, HBO Max and Hulu for sure. I think the soundtrack is available digitally on Amazon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44pm
ultradamno:

It's also got Jeremy Strong (Kendell Roy from Succession) in his first role
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm
WR:

Thanks for the reminder of that Gaylord episode. I heard part of it, I have it book marked but haven't gotten back to it yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm
drew73:

I'm definitely going to check that out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm
WR:

Nate, I wasn't going to mention it, but it keeps pulling my eyes to it. Typo in the first set, I think, shouldn't that be Lawtell Playboys?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm
WR:

Thank you Nate, laters folks.
